With the man's final breath, the old abandoned house goes silent. Well, mostly silent. There's still a bit of creaking walls and doors here or there, but that's probably the age of this house/it being haunted or something.

 

Right I'm way more injured then I think, let me reprise that. I blast a fire bolt at the cultist and then try to charm but the fire bolt took out the last of my strength and I fall down unconscious

 

I continue searching the house for loot.

I take Leon's stuff and blast a way out of the warehouse with War Scream.

The people around you begin securing him to a cart, getting ready to gtfo.

The warehouse appears to be done for, and that guy with the giant scythe blasting out one of the walls a few seconds ago probably didn't help.

The top floor seems to be scoured, so it seems more loot will have to be found eosewuere. As you go down the stairs, you notice a door that seems even more unused than the rest of the house, a door thay, when prodded, reveals stairs down to a creepy basement.

Suprsisingly, his large bag is uncrushed despite lying under several tons of stone. Must have been strong armor.

Your war scream utterly annihilates the wall, weakened as it is by fire. Unfortunately, the warehouse's structure is quickly falling apart, and it has best a few minutes before it collapses.

 

I rush out, heading towards the crater where I first fell.

 

I slowly walk down, being stealthy and watching out for enemies.

 

Do my fancy scales turn back normal now that I'm unconscious?

 

You quickly vault past the cultists before you run out of stamina and default to a light jog out of town and up the path out. The sun isn't very far high up now, maybe 3-4 hours away from setting, and past the rolling hills, you can see the blightwood sprawling north to the horizon. Eventually, you reach the impact crater you landed in, surprisingly smaller than you thought it would be. The only reason you could find it at all was because it was right next to the path.

The stairs creak unnaturally loud, even though your light build should muffle them. Torches on the wall flicker in and out, momentarily leaving you in darkness. Afterimages of things man was not meant to know are trying to force their way into your skull, and it's getting worse with each step.

You finally realize why your feet sound so loud.
Something's behind you, copying your footsteps perfectly. By the sound of the steps, it's even larger than the average humans you've seen in the area.

... Actually, they're going to stay that way for the next ~ 4 hours. If you're still asleep by then, probably yes.

 

I turn around and draw my sword.
Thorston: "Leave. Now."

 

Can I know what the potion did/does?

 

I bury Leon's gear in the center of the crater and mark the grave with a large stick planted into the ground.

 

The man leaves as quickly as possible, leaving you, a bunch of cultists, and a (semi)dead body. The carts have been prepared, and you're ushered towards one of them. Small bits of the warehouse's frame start creaking and chipping off, soon to be followed by the rest of the structure.

You turn around as quickly as you can and see... nothing? Somehow, there's absolutely nothing on the stairs above you.

Spoiler: Kinda Spoilers? (Not Really)

The rusty key's in a decayed, malfunctioning state. The potion was supposed to kickstart up its magical abilities, and as a side effect give it a nice blue feathery color. The potion was specifically made for that use, so entering a living creature that didn't have any magical deficiencies just nullified the first effect. The secondary effect defaulted to the nearest cosmetic magic it could, which was your scales.

A fitting grave.

You can still see the fire on the western edge of town, with the mountains and setting sun making a brilliant image for the location of your friend's death.

 

I head back up to the main area.

I'm probably going to be out for a while so can I have a dream sequence?

 

I sit here until dawn.

 

Just as you close the door, you hear a strange hiss. Eh, whatever. The first floor of the house is as quiet as ever, and your blood combined with that of the man trailed behind you on the stairs, really setting the mood. Speaking of that fight, the last bits of adrenaline in your system wear out, and with that comes the realization that you have tons of knives currently embedded in your flesh.

Whoops.

Why not.

You.. wake up? Always have been..? Well, you're standing in front of two massive, thorny red doors. They are made of hellish rock, with pulsating vines littering through them. Inlaid in the center is a picture of a horn broken off a deer. Quite odd.
Behind you lies a massive, seemingly endless hallway littered with bonfires and massive tapestries, chronicling events that make absolutely no sense to your mind.

There are voices speaking from beyond the massive doors, but you cannot make them out very well.

You have a feeling that it's going to be a very long night.

As the cart you're on leaves, the warehouse behind you finally collapses in a spectacle benefiting a high-budget action movie. Everyone involved looks sufficiently awesome.

 

I remove the knives from my flesh, using the scarf as a makeshift bandage.

 

I start walking to the doors and yell out
Dez:"Hello? Is anybody here? Also what is this place?"
