Poison, Loot And Explosions!

This is making it real tempting for me to stop being a Forum Games recluse and get back on the actual server

 

Now, did you guys actually finished the Code Refactor already? I'm pretty sure more than half of the glitches Holy Jpresent has fixed were said to be fixed in the code refactor.

 

Why is it that only now are these updates blazing along? What changed internally within the team? I would love to hear your story.

 

Yeah, I'm curious as well. I thought it was impossible to fix any of this without pushing all the content of 1.17 into the main servers. (and in the case of guilds, an even later update!)

From what I've been able to gather there are a few key reasons.
Main ones being, the bugs were relatively more hidden.
JP was actively actively looking for the bugs during this past weekend.
It was also easier for JP to find the bugs due to the code being Jumla's and not his own. (From my understanding it's a lot easier to find bugs in someone else's code rather than your own.)

So basically a combo of these things made it easier than ever to actually find and fix the bugs.
While all these bug fixes are nice this is not the main refactor update. The refactor will also bring it's own bugs but when that time comes it should be relatively easier to take care of them since the code will be much much cleaner and more organised.

Its the opposite.... I'm serious, have someone write a 200 page book, then hand it to you and have some person complain about the lore not adding up and saying you have to fix it. First you would have to study the book to be able to make changes in it and even then it's likely that you would make mistakes because you don't know what the author had in mind. That's s where the saying "what one coder can do in one month, two coders can do in two months" comes from sooo yea xD

 

This can be done in different ways depending on the coders as sometimes a team is better than one alone and visa versa. JP is just some freak of nature that is blessed by God or something like that.
