"It is certainly pleasant to learn about the gods of another reality. To see both the similarities and the differences between us." Caelia comments.

 

"I don't know if I find it pleasurable, but it definitely gives us more to do, lest we start to lose our minds over monotony."

 

"And your minds to the hive master." Caelia says.

 

"Oh those."
He heads deeper into Aurilon.

 

"Just about anything hold death is preferable to that..." Gaia scoffs.

You find the village where you took your last contract. Nobody's outside, but you can hear people in their houses.

 

"Sometimes I fear Praecantatia may turn on us and become our own Hive Master, though that is just because she has the ability to, not the nature to." Caelia comments.

 

He walks around, looking through the windows and knocking on the doors.

 

“I’ve had strong tea without poison.”

 

"Who?"

"The strongest tea is toxic."

A child opens the door.
"Hello, mister Bardock! Mum isn't here, but I could go get her if you want."

 

He shrugs, then takes another sip.
“I guess so.”
Pause.
“I take it you don’t keep all your info here.”

 

"The goddess of magic." Gaia explains.

"I believe her daughter is helping with your cause." Caelia says.

 

"Oh? I thought the girl with the totem was one of your children." She says, looking at Gaia.

"Maybe I do, maybe I don't. I have the strength and the money to keep it here if I wanted. Not many people get the chance to mess with a girl who can distort the fabric of reality twice."

 

"No, that's Praecantatia's. I played minimal part in her creation." Gaia says happily.

 

"Huh... Would it be possible to meet her while I'm off touring this reality?"

 

“What’s ‘at about? The distortion of reality thing.”

 

"Not under normal circumstance. You'd need to go to her." Caelia says.

 

"That's my power. Gravity wells, causing a little bit of instability inside someone I don't like, making their soul appear halfway across a galaxy... that's my gig."

"Could that be arranged?"

 

"I can arrange the means of transport, though Gaia will need to notify Praecantatia of your visit." Caelia says.
