@Nepeta Leijon Voidfiller approaches the gates of the Shadow Palace.

 

Next time, I wait for a healer.

I slip into a deeper sleep

 

You're woken by a slap to the face.
"Get up, you nitwit! Don't tell me you drugged yourself that hard!" Nevarra snaps.

 

"Ugh. I must say, I definitely expected a nicer awakening."

I slowly get up and face Devarra

 

"You got yourself in this mess in the first place. I wanted to make sure you were up since you were late for our meeting." Devarra snaps.

 

"Hmm.. maybe I could get some fish from it?"

 

Too murky. Anything in the stream was probably killed by the ash getting in the water. Do you remember the well your pack dug near their dens? I think that's your best bet.

 

"Guess we could take a look. Gonna take a while to get there from here."
He leaves the river.

 

"Certainly." Nymphaeria says.

The gates remain shut as the guards look at Voidfiller.

"What's your business here?" One of the guards asks.

I run into the house and close the door behind me.

 

"I'm looking for this lady named Alice."
Voidfiller walks forward a bit.
"She's supposedly a detective around here."

 

You can hear her laugh on the outside.
"Well, I suppose that works too. A safehouse is a safehouse."

Gaia bows.
"You have my thanks. If there's anything I can do to repay you, please let me know."

It's not too far. Besides, you have daylight to burn.

 

"Okay, now where is this well."
He walks around the dens.

 

There are three, so you can't miss it for long.
Fortunately, it seems the fire didn't raze your pack's territory.

Wait, your pack isn't here...

 

"Think they left? You know, with all the crazy weather going on."
He walks to one of the wells and fills his quiver.

 

Probably, but where would they go?

 

"Maybe out hunting. Or just fleeing for the fire. That's fine as long as they stay away from the deeper parts of the forest."

 

Right... Probably fleeing. I don't know if there's anything that stuck around to be hunted. Now, I'd be careful on your way back.

 

"She doesn't especially work for us anymore. She's got a house on earth you can go to though." The guard says.

"I shall, but you have no need to repay me for anything." Nymphaeria says, smiling.

 

“Got a portal to go there?”
