Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

They all melt and fall to the ground once they get close.
The phoenix smiles.
"You even would sacrifice yourself for the lives of the interfering outsiders?"
"Y-you... heartless..."
"Keep talking. Saves me from beating that bit of breath out of you."

Ihra blinks up to you.
"Hey, idea. You mind taking one for the team?"

It's stopped its jet of fire... for now, at least.

 

Voidfiller prepares to create the portal once they start up again.

 

Suddenly, there's a massive roar as a dark portal opens.


"What's that?" I ask.

 

The phoenix turns, literally flaring up.


"I... was going to say try to empower Gaia... but... there's something."
Gaia also starts being covered in vines.

Another portal opens, distracting the phoenix as the vines reach Gaia.

 

Voidfiller doesn’t seem to care, focusing on the mouth of the phoenix. Crystal, however, continues to grow the vines.

 

It begins to inhale, but being between a portal and an angry god might be a terrible idea.

 

What is the string attached to specifically?

 

Voidfiller puts up the portal, getting out of the way of collateral damage as much as he can.

 

A cloaked figure steps through the portal.

"I believe that's my cue. Presents for you all." The cloaked figure says with a familiar voice.

Hundreds of yellow eyes open up from the portal, before thousands of dark creatures flood through. Some of them appear to be smaller and weaker than the rest, while others appear to possess armour, a few of those much larger and fatter than their smaller friends. Some of the creatues appear to fly around casting elemental magic while others seem to be massive walking sets of armour, large flexible monsters with dangerous looking clubs and huge demonic looking versions of the weaker creatues.

The creatures run over to the phoenix, the elites and even Gaia, all trying to attack them, some of the creatures scrambling past the phoenix to get outside.

"What the hell are these things?" Tirra asks as she slices through a few of the dark creatures, only to be overwhelmed by more.

"Have fun!" The cloaked figure says, stepping back through the portal as more of the dark creatures flood through.

 

You and the door.

The phoenix lets loose a pulsing aura that keeps the monsters at bay, letting them rip into a struggling Gaia.

Ihra, being Ihra, taps her staff and (finally) starts boosting the elites.

 

What is the door attached to?

 

He manages to evade most of the damage, though a few draconians go after him.

The house, by a metal hinge.
It's a normal door.

 

Voidfiller keeps up the portal, standing his ground and waiting for the draconians to come near.

 

Aeris summons another tornado, gathering up as many of the creatures as she can around Gaia only to be countered by a few of other creatures skilled in wind magic. Ignia manages to kill quite a few of the creatures with a blast of fire, but some of the larger creatures manage to get to her and punch her across the room. Mortimer and Victus manage to almost kill a couple of the larger demonic creatures, but a group of the magical creatures manage to heal their wounds rapidly, negating the damage they did.

"Ihra, what do you know about light magic?" I ask hurriedly.

 

"I know that I'm going to be asleep after this... empower me!" She says, summoning her tomes and preparing a spell.

Three of five come near, the other two providing covering fire.

 

Voidfiller summons his sawblade weapon, tauntingly buzzing it.

 

"STEPHANIE! RE-ROUTE THE MAGIC TO IHRA!" I shout before empowering Ihra.

Ihra feels herself overwhelmed with magic, as if all the magic of Praecantatia's islands were concentrated into her.

 

"Climb aboard."
He lowers his body and lets her climb on it.

 

They back off slightly before swapping swords for lances.

 

Voidfiller grins madly, slowly approaching the draconians.
