Should I Start Playing On Wynn Again?

The last time I played on the server was about 4 months ago. Ever since then, i haven't had the urge to play. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to start playing again? I just can't find any reason to get on. granted I'm only lvl 57, but still. 4 months ago, i played almost everyday. Now, i just don't want to for some reason. And the only reason i get on the forums is because i like the community.

 

The main reason why I continue is cause I just meme with friends and just have some general good times. That's all it took for me honestly. Plus a new laptop so I could play.

 

Apparently, the update is almost done, so I personally think it'd be a good time to return.

Well, if by almost you mean, 2 - 3 months, then you I can belive it.

Also, you’re not alone. I’ve stopped playing for a variety of reasons. I outlined them here:

While I do agree that if you find the game enjoyable you should play it, I don’t agree that the current environment discourages only veterans or that Wynncraft is an overall fun game.

Any new players that find themselves on the server are quickly discouraged once they sink their teeth into the meat of the game. Most are just casuals that only play the first 20 to 50 levels, which is particularly bad because most of the bland content is in the low levels compared to the higher levels. The players that do stick around then have to deal with the 90+ lvl grind and lack of content.

Once those players complete every quest and every major dungeon, there really isn’t that much to do. PvP and guilds are so broken that they are a flat out joke. Players will then be let down by the lack of any updates, especially when the server advertises as a MMORPG. Even if they eventually add in new content, it still won't be enough. One of the greatest game designers once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.” That’s how a lot of other players and I feel about Wynncraft. Any positives about the game are outweighed by the unresolved problems of the game. It leaves just a bad taste that's impossible to get rid of.

This is what happened to all my friends and I. There isn’t a reason to play anymore and I’ve given this game 4 years to improve. And it did, but in a lot ofother ways it got worse. If you can get past the lag, the grinding, unfinished and poor content, game breaking bugs that stay in the game for 6+ months, and lack of updates, then more power to you. But for me and most other people that have left, it’s absolutely ridiculous. There are so many other games that are miles ahead ofWynncraft, that it’s unfair to compare Wynncraft even as a game. (Including indie games) At the end of the day,Wynncraft is just a unique minecraft server that has a good staff and community.

 

That doesn’t mean the update is coming soon. As we have seen in previous updates, things can easily break down and they may have to redo entire parts. Besides, Pretzule said they would tease the update in a week or two b4 it comes out. We haven’t gotten any formal teasers or any twitter announcements, so for all we know it could be much longer than a month.

I've had a few breaks here and there.

The first one was because I was kinda uninterested in the server when my friend first showed me this server, so it was kinda insignificant.
I never removed Wynncraft from my server list, so eventually, when I had nothing to do, I just came back and leveled up my character, so I did that and just got bored again, as the gameplay was kinda bland at that stage.
I knew Gavel was going to come eventually, but I never really researched into when, so I ended up coming back again, coincidentally, the same day Gavel released.
First exploring Gavel, and finishing what there is of the quests is some of the best experiences I've ever had in gaming, and I kept finding new things to do until a few days after Corkus released.
Not gonna lie, I was kind of underwhelmed by Corkus. Not that I hated it, it was just less than I expected.

And boom, here we are, only playing intermittently, waiting for the next update. So I feel like I have the same dilemma as you.
