"Examples must be set in times of war!"

I flip the switch on the staff and charge back through the door

 

The fae scatter once the saw starts.

 

A stone wall ends up blocking their path.

 

Crystal pouts as the figure notices.
"Oh, uh, sorry bud."
"They were nice, though."
It's unclear as to if the figure even heard what Crystal said, as I pat Crystal on the head, smiling.

 

"Then I too apologize..."
A bit of wind kicks up the assassin's dagger and hurls it into your shoulder.

The fae keep in hiding at this point.

One passes through the stone as if it was water.

 

"So, what's the plan here? Make sure that Stephanie's totem doesn't break?"
"Sure."
"I'll stick with you, Thirteen. Voidfiller looks like he doesn't need the help."
"And I do?"
I ask, jokingly.
"Maybe, yeah."
I smile.

 

"Solis, I would not have to do this if you would push harder for our protection."

I drop to a knee, while pulling the dagger out of my shoulder

 

"If you would've let me finish before threatening me, you would have heard that the other elders accepted the offer for protection of my village."

A fae watches from a distance, still curious about Crystal.

 

"I...I see. Do forgive me. The past few hours have been quite stressful, and I've become rather irritable."

I get back on my feet and put the staff on my back

 

I just stand attentive, watching the door, while Voidfiller tinkers with his weapon more without buzzing it. Crystal, however, shifts downwards, playing with magic on the floor.

 

"Oh, right. What can we do?"
He looks around.
"We can't throw sand on it like last time. That didn't even work that good."

 

"I think we all have."
Pause.
"Third tent on the right. Our healer will mend you before your trip back, assuming they're still alive."

A few fae slip out, staying low to the ground.
They start rolling an orb of earth magic around, bouncing it off of vines.

"I... I don't know, okay? I don't know..."
Pause.
"...Wait, I have an idea though. The wind moves the fire around, right? What if there was some way we could get the wind to blow away from the rest of the forest?"

 

"Yeah, that could work. Let's do that."

 

They just get pushed back again.

 

Crystal notices, watching them, while trying to grow some flowers.

 

I pull the Scythe back towards me so it hits her along the way (like how Thor pulls mjorn back towards him).

 

"Thank you, Solis. But before I go, I feel you should know of my visions."

I sit down again

"I've been contacted by draconians."

 

She winds up not see it coming.
"Oh, you..." She growls, hurling a dagger at your chest.

They don't seem to notice the flowers.

Annoyed, they give up.

"Notice how I didn't say I knew how... we just need to figure out a way to stop the Ziz."

He looks at you, mildly surprised.
"What would they want with you?"

 

Crystal just keeps playing around, watching the ball.
