The link begins to weaken.

"But Katie..." Ihra mumbles.
"Do what you will. We don't have all day."

 

"Hold on, without a body? What do you-"

The link cuts before I can finish

 

"She's worried about getting killed, nitwit." Devarra mumbles, cleaning up the mess the ritual made of the room.

 

"I'm sure Katie will be fine. Her parents are pirates, after all." I say.

 

"Well, she could've worded it a bit more clearly."

I turn to face Devarra

"Anyways, are you ok with meeting her with me?"

 

"You can handle the fire, right Anne? You could go in and see."

 

"May as well. Free relics are free relics." She shrugs.

"We're still over the ocean. The ziz isn't letting us get close."
"Yeah... what the snack said."

"They've also had Xephyr's child get out and pass out in the middle of the ocean multiple times. They aren't the best... at all."
Ihra keeps quiet.

 

"I suppose. Send a servant to get Wesley if anything happens, and I'll be back."

I leave Devarra's chambers and head to my own

 

"Of course. Go easy on that boy, he's working too hard for his own good."

 

"I'll be sure to tell Katie and her parents that." I say happily.

 

"Oh, shut up." Emerald mutters. "Just get whoever you want to and head back to Gaia before the artillery starts falling again. I'm going to Katie's house and hoping Kiin isn't passed out in the middle of the ocean."

 

"Ok, I hope you're as charming to the pair of them when you find them." I say.

 

"I know. I'll see you later."

I exit her rooms

 

"Are you always this passive-aggressive?" Emerald asks, glaring at you.

A puff of smoke follows you out of her chambers, the sun starting to set.

 

"Hmm. Peculiar."

I continue on my way, but look over my shoulder at the smoke

 

It's the same fog that was collecting around your staff.

 

"Depends." I say.

 

"Whatever... we're both just wasting time at this point." Emerald sighs, vanishing.

Ihra sighs.
"Well... we should get going, even if that was a bit rude."

 

"I'm sorry, I'm just...worried about Katie and this battle." I say.

 

Now interested, I fully turn around and examine the fog
