Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It feels like a shorter walk than usual.

When you get to the valley, the grass glistens. There's also a bunch of sliding claw marks - seems a few dragons have taken a tumble.

 

"Doesn't bother me much, though. There's more pressing matters to deal with."

 

"Seems like a lot of dragons already slipped down.. Maybe we could find something to get down without getting covered in mud. You know, like a big piece of bark or something."

 

Birds chirp and fly away as Ihra walks through, a few wild animals hastily running away as Ihra gets near.

 

"True..."
They fly away, rushing to the meditation room.

Ihra continues her walk, a few flowers growing with every step.

A few minutes later, she recalls to the guard with Amethyst in tow.

"Like a sled?" Anne asks. "You could cut a piece of wood, I guess. Not sure how we'd get back up, though."

 

I stick to the wall, relaxing and waiting.

 

The guard appears to be waiting outside the throne room, stressed out voices coming from within.

 

"Yeah, like a sled. Maybe we could cut some walking sticks out of the trees?"

 

"Found her." Ihra pipes up.

Nobody bothers you, hold the occasional golem which stops to look at you or the glances you get from biological passersby.

"Sure, cutting down one tree won't hurt." Anne says.

 

"Huh? Oh, excellent!" The guard says happily.

 

"...Are you okay?" Ihra asks, looking a bit worried.

 

I keep staring at the makeshift door, doing nothing else.

 

The hall eventually falls eerily silent for a few minutes, silence only broken by a door closing.

 

"Let's get to it then."
He goes to a nearby tree, transforms, and starts cutting down the tree.

 

"No, not really. The king and queen are...stressed, to say the least." The guard says.

 

"May I speak to them? I don't know why anyone would be stressed here..."

Transformed, it takes one swing to fell the tree.
"Shit, remind me not to piss you off..." Anne mutters.

 

I peek at the door, curious.

 

It was the door to the meditation room.
There's a sign that says "FULL" hung on the outside.

 

"Well, we only recently found out that Artemis was in relations with the Shadow King, and her harm may endanger the peace we have with the Shadows. Not only that, but the fact that a guardian did it only makes us look worse, and may even endanger the neutral standing ground the Shadows have with the Guardians, and they may not wish to associate with us anymore as quite a few of the guardians we employ come from the Realm of Shadows." The guard explains.

 

I smile at the door before going back to watching the big one.
