It’s not like Wynncraft has had its highest number of active players recently...

 

While I do agree that if you find the game enjoyable you should play it, I don’t agree that the current environment discourages only veterans or that Wynncraft is an overall fun game.

Any new players that find themselves on the server are quickly discouraged once they sink their teeth into the meat of the game. Most are just casuals that only play the first 20 to 50 levels, which is particularly bad because most of the bland content is in the low levels compared to the higher levels. The players that do stick around then have to deal with the 90+ lvl grind and lack of content.

Once those players complete every quest and every major dungeon, there really isn’t that much to do. PvP and guilds are so broken that they are a flat out joke. Players will then be let down by the lack of any updates, especially when the server advertises as a MMORPG. Even if they eventually add in new content, it still won’t be enough. One of the greatest game designers once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.” That’s how a lot of other players and I feel about Wynncraft. Any positives about the game are outweighed by the unresolved problems of the game. It leaves just a bad taste that’s impossible to get rid of.

This is what happened to all my friends and I. There isn’t a reason to play anymore and I’ve given this game 4 years to improve. And it did, but in a lot of other ways it got worse. If you can get past the lag, the grinding, unfinished and poor content, game breaking bugs that stay in the game for 6+ months, and lack of updates, then more power to you. But for me and most other people that have left, it’s absolutely ridiculous. There are so many other games that are miles ahead of Wynncraft, that it’s unfair to compare Wynncraft even as a game. (Including indie games) At the end of the day, Wynncraft is just a unique minecraft server that has a good staff and community.

To me, the server is only half of the experience and the rest of it lies in the community. Once you reach the "end game" in Wynn, you stick around partially because you want to explore the missed regions, easter eggs and so forth but you're also staying because of your guild mates, friends and the entire community.

With this, I agree a lot!


Just enjoy the game and before you know it, updates and the like will soon roll out ^-^

I meant it as a comparison to half finished free to play indie games and how you should judge a game by what it is, rather than what it will be.
