"I take it you feel the hole, then?"

 

"Gas it is."
"Those who die in their own skin hardly bleed."
"We'll keep tabs to keep any collateral damage low."

"Yes, there is a very noticeable lack of half my heart."

 

"Sorry for making you think about it."
I say, genuine.

 

"Absolutely. I'll send for you when I return."

 

"It's nothing. It's difficult not to think about."

"Thank you. Try not to overdo it this time, though..."

 

"Fair enough. Well, I'll be off. See you soon."
I say, starting to leave.

 

"Where are you going, if you don't mind me asking?"

 

I stop walking.
"To Gaia's palace."

 

"As you wish, Wesley."

I head to the middle of the room and prepare for more visions

 

"Well, let us try to take as many innocents out of the line of fire as possible. This should be good."

 

As you enter a trance-like state, you begin to receive a vision that... feels different than your others.


You see some sort of half-dragon girl alone in a cave, curled up and sitting in a corner with a staff larger than her sitting off to the side acting as a light source.

A crimson-robed half-dragon with seven tomes and two odd blades enters, leaves the girl some food, and leaves bloody footprints as she exits.


Draconian. You've heard the term before. Those aren't half dragons...


Flash, and you see the cerulean-scaled corpse of yet another draconian, and the view shakes as if you were running towards it.
A portal opens and an armored draconian rushes at you with an axe, though you know it isn't you. You duck it and pull out a locket with a sapphire in it before glancing back and darting off to the side to avoid another attack.
The vision suddenly goes red as a clawed hand weakly holds the locket towards the corpse.


Black again.


It's as if you open your eyes. A draconian is chained to some sort of machine, their blood being siphoned from them. Their face and scales are pale, and they seem to desperately look at you, albeit helpless before they fall limp and slump over.


...The last thing you see is a large, purple eye - and nothing else.

"Gas is hard to control. Anyone on a midnight walk will be needing a few days off."
"We can dampen it, but we need to have it still be effective."
"I hate to say it, but I'd rather lose a couple innocent lives in place of getting this whole town razed."

"Okay. Fair warning, I don't think she particularly likes robots."

 

I shrug.
"That fact stands with many people, and I've come to terms with it, alike many other facts."

 

I slowly shake off the effects on the vision, and shudder at the visions of draconians.

This cannot be good. I get another servant to bring Wesley back to my rooms

 

Wesley seems to have just been waiting outside, a cup of tea next to him on the ground.
"...Oh, here. I forgot to leave this with the bread. I also have a few bits of news, both involving you. Do you want to hear the bit that involves both of us first, or the bit that only involves you?"

"Just didn't want you being disappointed. She's pretty on edge right now, anyways."

 

"Yes, do you have map of the area?"

 

"I...I think the news for both of us first. You can explain that better."

I take the tea and sit down

 

"I wouldn't have been disappointed, but thanks for the warning anyways."
I say, leaving once again.

 

"Well, that one's easier to explain anyways."
Wesley holds up a paper with a seal on it.
"King Cyrus changed my job here a bit. I'm now officially your servant, not just focusing on serving you. I mean, like, an assistant." He says.
"...Also, I tried my hand at baking, since I figured that I wouldn't be much help with magic. Was the bread okay?"

She waves, rolling over again.

Sure enough, you notice a little lever beside the portal room, but instead of the normal darkness around the room, it lets out a bit of a green glow.

"Of course! Are you planning a trip somewhere?" They ask, gesturing for you to follow them towards the back of the store.

 

I pull the level, curious.

 

"The bread was nice, Wesley. Thank you. Now, what was the news about me?"
