Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

What does this mean?

Leon: "This change in gravity is nothing to me. I dwell in the abyss!"

I attempt to float away from the gravity.

 

Dez would probably be from the most advanced of the 2, having learnt magic and all

Dez:"So your Leren, finally one of you has something to resist my spell I was starting to think you were just a group of pushovers just, like that fake bartender. Well seeing as my friend is ready to fight, I'll stop my monologue"
Even though the gravity is 3 times stronger I should still be able to jump around having the ring of jumping on I move a bit and blast him with fire

 

Once I hear him exit the building, I go to the chest and try to lock pick it with my broken short sword.

 

I wait for the plot to effect me.

 

Dez has only heard of this guy. You've seen him in the flesh and thus recognize him easier.

That might work if the magic was the direct cause of the gravity, but Leren appears to have messed with the laws of physics themselves, and even you cannot break those.

It's less tech and more thematic differences (desert or swamp)

Due to the ring, your jumping ability and general all-around agility is quite a bit better than it should be. You blast a flame strike at Leren, but he appears to speed up and dodge it.
Leren: "You're in my field. I control reality here. You have no chance!"

... He doesn't appear to be leaving the house, and it's soon obvious why, as the man re-enters the room, this time with a hatchet in tow. A few smashes later, he has the chest broken. Out comes a bar of some strange metal you've never seen before. It has some strange, greenish-blue hue that you cannot pin down to any common metal, alloy or not.

30 seconds later, a group of cultists burst through the front door.
"There's trouble at the logger's warehouse at the edge of town and we need more people! Go! go! go! And tell that ice mage to get up here, already!"

 

Leon: "There is no such thing as possessing a reality. You stand no chance against us."

 

Making trouble already huh, Leon?
I guess I'd best set out for that warehouse.

 

OOC:Sure if its thematic then Dez is from the desert

He might have a ring of magic resistance, but I can still try to charm him and I will keep trying until it works or I am hit.(If I know some lizardfolk language then I'll say the spell names in it to confuse Leren)

 

Thorston speaks in an eerie ghostly voice.
"Leave this place or perish..."

 

Eradius: "What the hell?"
Since I'm wearing cloak similiar to theirs to they think I'm on of them?

 

Leren pulls out some strange wand from seemingly nowhere. Its design is rather overdone with the whole power aspect. Extremely overdone, actually.

Leren: "Bah! I've put quite a lot of work into making reality my personal puppet! I found this under a lake after a long search some years ago, maybe it'll make you reconsider."

Metagame (V.): Any strategy, action or method used in a game which can only be logically undertaken if the character has knowledge that they should not.
Just a hunch, but the logging warehouse that these cultists are talking about and the logging warehouse that Leon and Dez are in might be related.

The man immediately grabs the charm he has around his neck and begins rapid-fire chanting in a language you don't understand. His eyes scan the room multiple times, searching and searching. Somehow, he doesn't see where you're hiding, which simply uses a nook in the wall and shadows. Maybe he's too busy looking for a murderous spirit to notice you..?

You're wearing a gaudy blue coat with an even worse trim. Sure, the elemental mages have that design, but these are the cultists. You could probably convince them you're some kind of poison elemental mage with the getup, though.

 

Thorston continues speaking in a ghostly voice.
Thorston: "If you do not leave, you will die..."

 

I go on do that.
Eradius: "Hey guys you need some help?" I speak in my drunken state.

 

I use the Iron Skin spellbook to gain heavy weight. Then I leap to Leren and slide the ring of persuasion on him.

Leon: "Dez, use charm on him, now!"

 

Dez:"I sure as hell can try" I cast charm, but am redy to counterspell whatever that wand does

 

On second thought, I think I'll stick here a bit and order a Fog Coast.

 

His expressions become more pained, and the tiniest glistenings of sweat appear on his brow. However, his careful observation skills soon overcome his sheer panic, and he locks eyes directly on you.

Cultists: "What? Why would we -"
They notice the sigil on your sleeve.
Cultists "Oh err sorry about that... Yes, your assistance would be very much appreciated."

The tactical soundness of this plan is ruined by the fact that you would actually have to sit down and actually read the book for an hour or so in order to cast it. Also, you never actually specified using a focus and I'm pretty sure you don't even realize the gnarled wand in your pack is one.

Good news is that an 8 ft warrior in full plate in triple gravity is already pretty damn heavy. It's still less of a leap and more like strained hops.
The charm doesn't work, mostly because of:

The blast from his wand collides perfectly with Dez's counterspell, however(I actually rolled a die for this, Nice crit.), and fizzles it out.

Bartender: "Shame we're going through our supply so fast... the supply routes coming up here are screwed over now because of that damn academy destabilizing the region.... Dwarves will barely let anyone pass through The Wall's routes and nobody wants to sail around the continent..."
