Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

They nod, the rest of the group running off ahead.
"I wouldn't wear that crown. You'll need to get past the city guard."

 

I put away the crown in one of my pockets securely.

“The cloak ripped out of the night sky doesn’t seem out of place? Let me take it off just in case.”

I take the cloak off.

 

You look even more like the night sky now.

"...We'll find you a scarf and a mask or something."

 

He looks at some of the short bows.
"They look nice."

 

"It would certainly be nice to be trusted by her. Perhaps after the battle I could seek out the faerie queen to assist me." I say.

 

I mount Nemmek and begin to head off towards the castle

 

"Don't your fae have an innate fear of shadows? I'm, like, maybe the only one I know of that's worked with faeries multiple times."

"Glad you like them. They're not top quality weapons, though. Good enough to kill and take a little beating, but not really meant for super long confrontations."

The wind starts to pick up a little bit as you go, but not enough to be a sign of anything.

Breeze aside, it's an easier and faster ride back, and you soon find yourself back inside the castle.
A few guards salute you as you enter, but most people don't seem to pay much attention to you.

 

"I prefer axes when it comes to long battles, so don't worry."
He looks at the short bows.
"How much do the short bows cost?"

 

"Forty silver coins. Ten if you trade in your crossbow frame."

 

I can do that?

Oh! I thought you ment actually morphing my body. Illusions I can do, that's easy.

 

"Got any preferences? There are a lot of them."

Still, you've got four guards to trick to get in, and you'll have to be careful who you make feel sick as you sneak around to look for a map to swipe.

"Of what? Your crossbow frame, or coins?"

 

"No, the short bows."

 

"Oh, not really. They're just about all the same. The only difference between any of them is that some are sturdier and others shoot slightly farther."

 

I nod.

 

"Well.. I mostly use my bow for hunting and never really for combat, it that makes sence. Can you do anything with that?"

 

"...Put the cloak back on. You'll sort of stick out during the day."
Something about this man that's helping you seems oddly familiar, but you can't quite place him.

"If you want a hunting bow, I would use a flatbow. I'm sure a hunting supply store would have one for sale."
