Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"The visions grow stronger every day. I believe the worst is yet to come. I fear for us all, Elder. But I'll do the best I can to protect us all."

I begin to stand and prepare to leave

 

"No, not with each other! I don't care what you do in private!" Alice scowls. "I mean when you're out running around in a warzone!"

He nods, withholding his comment.
"...Good day, Aradius."

 

"Good day, Solis. May Phykrah treat you well."

I exit the elders building

 

"Why would we do anything romantic while in a warzone?" Artemis says, laughing a bit.

 

He waves you off, heading into another room as you leave.

Same two elves are still outside. Lara's still off doing... well, she never actually told you.

"That's what I was thinking." Alice sighs.

 

I walk over to the other two elves

"How are you today, brethren? What brings you out so far from the kingdom?"

 

"We're studying the wind arts." One says.
"Gaia sent us here both for study and for refuge. I'm sure you've heard of the terrible draconic war that's raging, no?"

 

“I am very much satisfied with the stars, but I cannot stand to see my former kingdom fall to the hands of a tyrant because of my selfishness. Idhaenna, what should I do?”

 

I stand up, strech a bit, and flee from the scene. Like I was never there.

 

Pause.
"...I will offer you one more blessing, but it will not be reversible. If you must return to your people, you may... but you will be an avatar of the stars. You will not look human, and your powers will be slightly diminished. However, if your people mean that much to you, then I will permit your return."

After a few minutes, you're sure that you've put a good distance between yourself and your old position.

Well, you've got more decisions. Keep running, set up another trap to feed, or scout some hiding spots. Alternatively, risk finding a town and figure out where you actually are.

 

I feel full at the moment, and a sense of direction would be very usefull. I'll try and find a town.

 

“I will not look human? Please explain, Idhaenna.”

 

I smirk at Artemis, who just responds with a shake of her head.

 

You spot a small town nearby, but it has a dedicated guard that might be tough to work around. There'll be a map you can steal, though...

"You would look like the shape of a human, however, I cannot undo your tie to the stars. You would appear to be a window into space, your eyes stars and the ever shifting night your blood. You will be able to be harmed, but your blood will be as cold as the void."

"The day he makes out with you on a battlefield is the day I'll turn in all of my files." Alice grumbles.

 

"It's also the day we get shot for not paying attention." Artemis says flatly.

 

"Also probably true." Alice shrugs.
"Aaaanyhow, I don't quite understand why Gaia hates shadows so much already. We'll learn soon, I guess."

 

"We kill stuff, Gaia likes stuff to be alive," I say, shrugging, "Things are kept in balance here, but your reality doesn't have Shadows, so therefore introducing a new apex predator species messes things up."

 

"I understand, mistress. Where would I be placed after being ripped out of the stars grace? Would I be naked, or would I be able to sustain myself as a near-mortal once more?"

 

"Good point. Hopefully you earn her trust sometime soon."

"I will provide you with your cloak, and as time goes on I will return your old keepsakes. However, you would have no need to breathe or consume. You may do so, and you will be able to taste, but you will sustain yourself as long as the stars."

 

"I am ready then, Idhaenna. Release me from the infinite. My people need me."
