Eventually, you make it to the big center building. It's made of stone, compared to the nearby wooden buildings

 

I look at it, seeing what it has or might be.

 

This appeared in the town that Alice is from, although you were not in the party during that time. When the village is too small for a full-on market there's this central building that functions as like a farmers market, a government building, and a common meeting place. That's what this is.

 

I open the door and head inside.

 

Heat: (to Caligo) "If you really want to, you can get on my back. I'll shove off people that dare to come near."

 

Caligo: "I'm not a child. Thanks for the offer, though."

 

Heat: "Seems the humans here enjoy to think so."

I bring out my shield.

 

By the way, this is a pretty random time to mention this, but Erevan has heterochromia iridum (2 different eye colors). The right is green, the left is a sort of yellow-gold.

Just a minor quirk I thought of a while a go, but never had a chance to bring up.

 

Inside there's a lot of tables with people (once again, all humans) talking and eating. There are some stalls on the side with people selling goods. There are back rooms and stairs going up too, but they just seem like storage rooms of offices.

I go up to the nearest stall.

"Want some milk?" says one guy, as his pours a bowl of milk into the mud

"Running from some dogs?"

"Did you get rained out of your tree?

"What? Can't say nothin'? Cat's got your tongue?"

Some other people come up and give Alice a bit of bread or cake, but the still try to stay VERY clear of you.

One guy, walking a big dog, intentionally comes very close to you.

I raise my shield and keep people away.

Heat: "Back away before you burn, humans."

 

They actually look scared, and back away

 

I look for the most pleasant looking person around.

 

I like this city.

 

There's a lady holding a little baby at one stand. She seems to be selling berries.
