Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh. Yeah, I guess the beasts don't come from nowhere. But, capturing one? Some Shadows could hardly kill one, what do they use to capture?"

 

He nods, trembling.

Well he made this easy on us, didn't he?

He heads towards the throne room, watching his step.

 

"Light nets and drugs to subdue them." I say.

Rineth can hear me talking in the throne room.

 

"Why wouldn't you use that in normal battle?"

 

He voidwalks through the door, glancing at Crystal.

 

"We do if one of them gets loose, but then you don't really learn anything if you're training against them. It's like having a button that solves any problem. Sure, you can solve any problem with it, but you don't learn from it." I say.

"Oh, hey Rineth." I comment, glancing at Rineth.

 

Crystal thinks for a few moments, before nodding.
"Well, thanks! Sorry for interrupting."
He says, leaving the room.

 

"No problem." I say, smiling.

 

Crystal leaves, heading back to the training room via elevator.

 

A few Shadows appear to be slowly fighting each other, practicing their moves.

 

"I wanted to let you know that your efforts to help Gaia weren't in vain."

 

Crystal looks around for the armored Shadow.

 

"Oh, they weren't?" I ask, surprised.

The armoured Shadow appears to be practicing with another Shadow, blocking their attacks.

 

"GOOD. NOW LEAVE THIS HOTEL."

 

Crystal sits down, observing.

 

The armoured Shadow deftly blocks the attacking Shadow's strikes, complimenting them whenever they (rarely) manage to hit him.

 

"It seemed small, didn't it? Turns out that two of the groups you dealt with were meant flank a counterattack our forces planned to launch. The idea was to go all in on one point and then disperse with a numbers advantage, but a bit of captured intel suggests that those two groups were to act as kamikaze units. Most of us think that means you stopped the bulk of the seige on Gaia's palace."

The innkeeper seems annoyed.
"N-no, he needs to stay here and be arrested..."

Jail time sounds painful. Listen to him.

 

Crystal patiently waits for them to finish up.

 

"Wow, really? I even saved them from being killed too." I say happily.

Once the Shadows finish, they look rather exhausted, heading back toward the palace.

 

Crystal trails the armored Shadow, checking if it's the same one from before.
