Hello wonderful people of the Wynn Mafia community, I'm here to host another Wynn Mafia clone!

Well, not really. But yeah, I'm basically taking stlast's work and doing stuff with it. Sorry!

    Game Details

Anyways, this mafia game has the added feature of - if you haven't guessed by the title - traitors! I will add a few traitors into the game. These traitors will have a normal Wynn Mafia role, but deep down - they're working for another side. If the traitor is a town or independent role, they'll be working for the mafia. If the traitor is a mafia role, they'll be working for the town. If you are a town/independent traitor, you will be told who the mafia are. You can also choose to reveal yourself as a traitor to them at any time.

And don't even think that's everything I've added. I've mixed around a few roles, changing their faction to something else. You know, just to add to the confusion.

There may also be a few new roles, but you'll have to wait and see what those will entail.

Mafia is a party game that originated some time in the 1980s. Mafia, in essence, is a game pitting two sides against each other - the innocents, a majority group whose goal is to discover and eliminate the mafia members hiding amongst them - and the mafia, a knitted group dedicated to killing every last innocent in play.

The game runs on a day/night cycle. During the day, the innocents discuss and attempt to find someone to lynch in the hopes that they kill a mafioso. At night, the mafia send out one of their members to kill a target of their choice. In the case of Wynn Mafia, each phase (day or night) will last approximately 48 hours, for a total of about 96 hours in one in-game day.

Lynching is the innocents’ primary method of killing mafia members. Every day, players may cast votes on suspicious peers (eg. Vote: stlast). At the end of the phase, whoever has the most votes piled on them will be killed. In the case of a tie, no-one will be lynched. Additionally, players may vote for a no-lynch, which is self-explanatory. If the votes result in a tie between a player lynch and a no-lynch, the no-lynch will always lose.

Every night, the mafia may vote in their private chat on a player to kill, plus the mafioso who will be sent out to perform it. That player will be found dead at sunrise unless under some sort of protection to survive the nightkill.

Information gathering is the innocents’ key to victory. Using whatever methods are available, the players should attempt to learn as much as possible to determine just who might be part of the mafia.

Most mafia games feature roles: powers assigned to players that may help them achieve their goal(s). Cop, doctor, and vigilante are examples of very common roles in Mafia.
If you’re still confused, search the rest of the internet for more details. There are plenty of sites dedicated to explaining the game.

    Example Role Message:
!!Don’t give this information to anyone who is not in the game (or any player you don’t trust)!!

    You are...
You are the Example Role (Innocent)
You were created solely as an example in the game thread's OP. You don't actually live in Detlas...sorry.

    It is currently Night 99
    You have ❤25 health.
    You have 0 emeralds.
You are at the Hourglass Tower.

Your equipped weapon is the Example Weapon, which deals 0-1 damage.

    You have:
    -Example Weapon-
    0-1 damage
    -Example Item-
    Does nothing
    -Empty item slot-
    -Empty item slot-

    Emeralds
Emeralds are Wynn Mafia’s currency, used primarily to spend on weapons and items. They are earned by playing the game.

By default, all players receive 5 emeralds every phase.

    Items
Items in the game have a number of uses, from inflicting status effects to healing to having unique powers. Everyone has three slots to store items and weapons (plus a fourth slot for the player’s equipped weapon). Multiple items of the same kind do not stack. Items will be made available regularly for players to purchase.

Items can be used, sold, given, or thrown away. Items generally sell for about half their buy price, but some items cannot be sold or fetch nothing.

    Weapons/Attacking
Weapons can be obtained similarly to items. There are four tiers of weapon: normal, unique, rare, and legendary, just like in Wynncraft. Higher-tier weapons are rarer, but generally stronger. The default weapon is the oak wood dagger, but not everyone will begin with one.

Every phase, you have the option to attack any player to deal damage based on your weapon. However, attacking a player gives the chance that you may be seen and identified, so be careful.

Melee Weapons (Spears, daggers, etc.) are likelier to be noticed than bows, but bows tend to be more expensive.

    Status Effects
The game uses status effects, which are either helpful or harmful. They aren’t an everyday occurrence, but they’re out there.

This list will be expanded as time passes.
    Poison
Damages the player by 4 health per phase. For every phase that the effect lasts, the damage grows by 1.
    Regeneration
Heals the player for 4 health per phase and causes harmful status effects to wear off twice as fast.
    Rejuvenation
The player regenerates 8 health per phase.
    Empowered
    +2 damage
    Resistance
The player takes 25% less damage
    Protection
Damage taken during a phase is reduced by 5
    Silenced
The player's vote will not count
    Blinded
All of the player's actions will fail

    Locations
Locations are a minor feature. They work similarly to the ones in stlast's game, but this time the area the game takes place in is Troms and the surrounding landscape. Locations have buffs and debuffs, allowing for more interesting plays.

Some locations will have quests, which are mainly small tasks that can get you some rewards. I'll reveal some quests here, but others I'll keep secret... For now.

Please note that locations don't affect your ability to attack anybody - you can attack anybody you want, no matter where they are. However, if someone else is at the place where your target is, they have a chance to spot you.

    The locations are:
The Bank has been an important part of Troms for many years. Unfortunately, it seems the mafia threat has caused the bankers to hide in their indestructible emerald vault, leading to everybody having to keep their spare change on them.

    You gain 15% more emeralds.
    You take 5% more damage.
Located just above the powder shop and near the weapon shop, the Training Grounds are a popular place for adventurers to test their powders and weapons.

    You deal 10% more damage.
    You cannot buy any items.
The Weapon Shop is always open, especially now that the mafia are amuck - people need weapons for self-defense.

You can only buy weapons here.
    You deal 5% more damage.
The Armor Shop has been a popular business for many years, but ever since the mafia arrived, there have been rumors that the owner joined them.

One piece of armor is sold here every phase.
    You take 5% less damage.
Powders are powerful elemental boosters - so of course a shop selling them in the middle of Troms would be successful.

You can only buy powders here.
You can put powders onto a weapon.
    You take 10% more damage.
The Castle is the home of the king... Who seems to have gone missing.

    You can't buy items here.
You have the regeneration effect while you're here.
    There is a quest here.
The Item Identifier powers up the weapon of any adventurer who comes to him - for a price.

    You deal 2 more damage.
    You can't buy items here.
The Scroll Merchant has scrolls for anywhere in the world - if the world only encompasses Troms.

You can teleport anywhere from here 3 times in the game.
    There is a quest here.
Merchants from all over flood to the Marketplace to sell their goods. Unfortunately, they're all stuck now that the gates are closed.

There are 4 items for sale every day here.
    You can't attack here.
The Passage is technically closed, but they can help you get something you need... for emeralds, of course.

Twice in the game, you can ask for an item of your choice.
The Temple of Legends has been a place for adventurers all over to prepare for battles. Now that the mafia are killing people left and right, people are training even more than usual.

    You deal 20% more damage.
Every phase, a new special item will be sold here.
    There is a quest here.
There is nothing special about this place.
Potions can be used for many things - healing, restoring mana, and trolling your friends.

    Only potions are sold here.
You can only be here for one phase - if you don't choose a destination, you'll be sent to The Fountain.

Thanks @stlast for the roles and rules I've used.

If you want to join, just say /in.

    1. Do not quote or screenshot posts from the host (@HowToZombie) from any private conversations. Doing so will result in a modkill (game over).

    2. If you are not participating in the game (whether dead, modkilled, or not having played the game), please do not discuss important game topics with players, e.g. living players' roles, what the players know, what to do, your suspicions, etc. Posting in this thread is fine as an audience member, as long as, as I said, it does not reveal or imply important game information.

    3. Roleclaiming (claiming your role identity or other role info; self-explanatory) is fine, but per rule #1 you may not quote or screenshot your role post. This doesn’t exactly mean I encourage roleclaiming, though. But I'll add this: no massroleclaiming. And if you are given a win condition, you may not share it or request it from another player.

    4. If you make a post in the game thread, do not delete or edit it. If you're worried about typos, then make sure to proofread before posting.

    5. During the night phases, please do not discuss important info publicly (in the game thread or the lounge) - night-time is mainly for night actions and private discussion. "This player is mafia" would be an example of important info, in this case.

    6. If you do not post in the game thread or perform any actions for two phases (one in-game day), then I will notify you that you are not actively playing. If you are inactive for four phases (two in-game days, approximately 8-10 IRL days), then you will be modkilled and a replacement will be sought.

    7. All forum rules still apply (obviously).

    8. For all private conversations you make regarding the game (e.g. convos with other players), I must be included as a participant. Remember that as the host, I need to know everything that’s going on during the game, and if I don’t, then I can’t evaluate your performance and thus can’t reward you at all.

    9. Sharing information with other participating players (as long as it follows the other rules) is fine.

    10. Use your common sense. You know what “important information” is in the context of this game, don’t try to say you don’t. And remember that this is just a game, and people are going to act differently than they might elsewhere in the forums. Don’t be aggressive just because you don’t like how other people are playing. I really don’t think I should have to explain all this.

    11. If you are a traitor, please do not reveal yourself to the side you are betraying. That would ruin the fun of the game. This includes revealing your teammates (If you are told who they are).

    12. No @Gigavern abuse. Thank you for your consideration.

Rules 1-10 copied and pasted from @stlast's mafia game.

The game has started! Find the game thread at https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/wynn-mafia-traitors-among-us-game-thread.208758/

If you'd like a suggestion, just don't tell the town who the mafia traitor is or vice versa. So someone could say "I'm the mafia traitor, the other mafia is lego and zombie," but they may just be a serial killer and want all of you dead. Also make sure they show as mafia when checked. So it'd be a game of trust and inference.

This is gonna be fun. Well fun until everyone blames on the kills on me and then lynches me. But when they find out that I'm a jester, it'll be fun again.
