Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"War is never fun." Shadow Stephanie says, serious.

 

“Well, yeah. Obviously.”

 

Shadow Stephanie just stays quiet for a moment.

 

Crystal stays quiet as well, and starts moving around, having fun rolling his eyes on the ground.

 

Shadow Stephanie slides up the wall, eventually sliding onto the ceiling and across the room.

 

“What else do you do for fun, other than play video games?”
Crystal suddenly asks, continuing to roll around on the ground.

 

"Read books, hang out with my boyfriend, go exploring. That sort of thing." Shadow Stephanie says from the ceiling.

 

“How many books have you read?”

 

"Thousands over my entire lifetime." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

“Woah!”
Crystal says, amazed.
“Hey, how old are you, anyways?”

 

"I never really kept track. We usually measure our age by the age of our form. I'm probably a few thousand years old though." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

She puts in the combination and heads to the portal room, looking at the input log.

"All of them." He calls back.

 

There appear to be two recent openings to Earth, as well as one to what seems to be another planet.

 

“Do Shadows take on forms other than humans?”
Crystal asks, getting evermore curious.

 

Ruby heads over to the console and lets Abigail have a bit more control over her.
"If you remember where your friends live, now's the time." Ruby thinks.

 

"Yes. Lesser Shadows usually take on the forms of small animals and the like, while some Shadows can take on the forms of guardians or other beings." Shadow Stephanie says.

Abigail starts typing into the terminal, and she opens up a portal to a home on Earth.

 

"What happens if a Shadow doesn't take a form?"

 

Ruby takes a deep breath.
"If I get shot at, we're at the right place."

She steps through and heads up to the door, shaking a bit.

 

"Then they'll be formless, and they'll look the same as they did before they took a form." Shadow Stephanie says.

A jack-o-lantern appears to be next to the door, a lit candle illuminating it from within.

 

Ruby glances around before knocking.

"I hope this is the right house..." Ruby thinks. "Does it look familiar?"
