Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"W-well... there are a lot of ways to do it. The way I hope you don't do is to simply kill me and retrieve only Abigail's soul. I... I'm not sure if you even can keep me alive with only half of my soul."

 

"So we can come in?"
He heads towards the portal.

 

Rema nods.
"Sorry it took me so long."

 

"Eh, don't worry. Had a little chat with Anne to pass some time."

 

"Sounds like you've found the right girl to spend your life with." Rema says happily. "Now, come on in. I'd guess you both grow tired."
Anne smiles, but keeps quiet.

 

"Thank you."
He steps inside the portal.

 

As you expect, you find yourself back in Rema's lab, this time a door open to a side room.
Anne slides in, walking ahead of you as she goes in that room.

"It has a bed, so you'll be fine." She calls. Rema chuckles in response.

 

"Let me see."
He goes towards the door and looks into the room.

 

"I was asking where to find the other half of your soul." Shadow Stephanie says flatly.

 

Ruby sighs.
"...I was hoping you might be able to help me on that count. The person who tried to steal away Abigail's soul has it, but I can't remember as much as their name."

Two beds, one meant for humans and the other a rounded cushion moreso than a mattress.
There's a stack of six pillows off to the side, and about ten folded blankets.

"Leave me with at least one blanket, but you're free to make your bed however you'd like." Rema says.

 

"I take the big one!"
He grabs a blanket and lays down on top of the bed.

 

Rema chuckles, Anne jumping up on the bed on top of the blanket.
"I'll be in for the night soon, I'm just finishing notes on a spell." Rema calls.

"...Aren't you going to take a pillow?" Anne asks.

 

He looks at her, awkward.
"Oh, yeah."
He gets up and grabs a pillow.
"I... uh.. I just wanted to make sure I could claim the bed." He smiles.

 

"Well, it's not like I'm going to take up the entire bed." Anne sighs, hopping up onto the edge of the mattress.

 

"I know."
He places his pillow on the bed and lays down.

 

You fall asleep pretty quickly, though for a few minutes you can feel Anne settle down near you.

You sleep so hard, you don't dream.

Come morning (not like you can tell from the cave), Rema and Anne are already out of the guest room.

 

He gets up and walks out of the room, still a bit sleepy.
*yawn*

 

You stumble; there's a single step down from the bedroom to the lab.

"Good afternoon, sleepyhead." Rema laughs.

 

"What time is it? Can't tell, because you know.. cave."

 

"Just a bit past noon. Did you have plans for today?" Rema asks.

Anne's not visible from where you're standing.
