"Want to play some video games?" Shadow Stephanie suggests happily.

Shadow Stephanie doesn't notice Ruby, talking to Crystal.

 

Crystal looks a bit puzzled before remembering.
“Yeah, sure! I’ve never actually played one before.”

"Uhm... excuse me, miss Shadow Stephanie?" Ruby asks, taking a nervous step forward.

"You could probably ask a shifter if you want to explore one of the tunnels. Not many people bother going into them, so some shifters try to hide in them when they make... shady transactions."

 

"I'll probably visit one of the villages first. I still have some broken weapons."

 

Open huh?

I wouldn't mind joining one of the longest if not, the longest running RP on the forum.

 

"I'd suggest the human settlement, then. Their blacksmiths were able to forge weapons that can cut dragon scales, so you're bound to find someone who can fix yours up in no time."

"Thanks for the tip. I'll do so once we're done."

 

"Well, it's getting late. Would you like to spend the night at my home?" Rema offers.

Sure enough, the sun's starting to set.

 

"What home? Your cave?"

 

"Yes, though my lab doubles as my home. There's a side room so I don't have to sleep near various toxins."

 

"But it's a bit far to your cave. I don't think I can walk that much anymore." He awkwardly smiles.

 

"Oh, I can't walk that far. Magic is a beautiful thing." Rema says, opening a small portal to her cave with the flick of a claw.

 

"Oh. Well that changes things."
He walks a bit closer.

 

The portal seems stable, a few odd scents wafting from within.
"Give me a moment to clean up and I'll make sure you and your friend have a place to stay for the night."

 

"Sure. I'll just wait on this side of the portal."

 

Rema nods, heading through.
You can see her put a few vials away, a splash of something hissing and catching fire as it falls on the floor. Rema winds up putting it out with some sort of gel before continuing to sort things out.

"...She didn't seem to expect company." Anne comments.

 

"..Yeah.. let's not mention how the lab looks." He smiles.

 

"Maybe you were right... that seems like a bad sign."

 

"Let's be.. polite. Don't want to make her feel bad."

 

Anne sighs.
"I... ugh. Part of me wants to say that it's a death trap, but it just doesn't add up to that. Why would she give you a really easy contract to lift your curse, then risk her own life to come out and see you again?"
Pause.
"...but at the same time, she didn't look like she was expecting company, and it's sort of weird that she's suggesting we go explore crypts."
