Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"No. She's just really moody, and the Behemoth hates her for doing so many things because she feels like it."

 

"So she's a bit like Anne?" He laughs to himself.

 

"Hey!" Anne scowls, causing Rema to chuckle.
"Perhaps. The only difference is that Anne is free to do that... the Ziz has a duty to protect us all, and she simply is not."

 

"Well.. I don't know what I could do about. Don't think I can stand up to one of the guardians."

 

"No, I wouldn't think one person could, other than another guardian. Even then, forcing them to do their job would just make them resentful..."

 

"She has her job as a Guardian, she needs to act like one then."

 

"That's the problem." Rema sighs.

 

"Hey, so you murdered someone in a painful way. Everyone here's done it at least once," Shadow Stephanie says, "They're dead now anyway. You can't hurt them anymore."

"We could try." Abigail says.

A familiar staff in a magical shield rests outside the tent, a label with 'Ruby and Abigail' written on it.

 

"She a stubborn little girl." He smiles.

 

Ruby checks to see if the tent is open, unsure how to return the staff.

"...Are you insulting your girlfriend again?"

 

"No. Not this time."
Pause.
"But like I said, she sounds like a stubborn child."

 

"In a sense, I suppose you're right."

 

"She wants to do her own thing, right? But she needs to fulfill her duties as a Guardian, and she doesn't want to."

 

“Yeah... yeah.”

 

The old woman seems to be telling someone's fortune.

"Maybe you're meant to put your borrowed staff with your actual one to retrieve it?" Abigail suggests.

"Look, don't feel bad. People were bound to die anyway, there was nothing that could be done." Shadow Stephanie says, trying to comfort Crystal.

 

Ruby tries that, leaving the borrowed staff next to the shield.

"At the same time, we can't just tell her to stop. She'd just get angrier."

 

The staff phases through, the shield dropping Ruby's staff out of it.

 

"Yeah, that's the problem."

 

She retrieves her staff, heading back to Vexa.

"...Well, if you have any ideas, let me know. I'll do what I can to help."

 

Vexa's still working in the back, hammering.
