Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, okay."
He goes back to grilling a rabbit.
"So.. I have a question. Well.. it was Anne's idea."

 

"Hammer!" Vexa calls.


"Sure thing, Rineth!" Shadow Stephanie says happily.

 

Crystal loses the smile.
“Yeah... I impaled this guy by the wing and choked him while blood was spurting out of his mouth... I don’t even know if I ended up killing them.”

 

"...What was my idea?" Anne asks.
"Ask away, Bardock." Rema says.

"I think we left him to die back there..." Linoa says, stressed.

Ruby goes outside and checks for customers.


"Thanks." He sighs, a bit stressed.

 

A fire guardian waves, approaching the shop.


Shadow Stephanie changes to her larger form to give Rineth a hug.

 

"Well, we talked about family and stuff. And Anne thought I should ask you if it's possible for you to speak with the dead."

 

"Good morning!" Ruby says happily, heading back to Vexa.
"Hey, customer. What do I do?"


He wraps one wing partway around Shadow Stephanie.
"I think Crystal may need comforting. He impaled a draconian who was still dying when we bailed. The shock's getting to him, I think."

"Oh, yeah. I can arrange that easily."
"I thought you said you didn't want to..." Anne sighs.

 

"It is true that I said I didn't want to, not now atleast. But I thought I might as well ask."

 

Anne nods.

"Well, if you ever want to speak with your parents, I can make it happen. You just come over to my home and I'll make sure you can have a heart to heart with them." Rema says, content.

 

"Thank you. I appreciate it."
He nods.
He's quiet for a while, but then he thinks of something.
"So I heard there was a lot of talk about the dragons and the Ziz thing. Got any opinion about it."

 

Vexa stops hammering, coming out to the front of the shop as the fire guardian enters.

The fire guardian starts talking in the same language Tirra spoke, Vexa replying in it and Ruby unable to understand. The fire guardian puts a pair of busted up claws on the counter, looking a little distressed, and Vexa takes Ruby's claws off the wall, showing them to the fire guardian. The fire guardian looks quite impressed by them.


"Where is he?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"The guardian of the skies hunts us some dragons mercilessly. Wyrms, like me, were blessed by her, and the others were blessed by the guardian of the lands. In turn, that Ziz has little problem killing any dragon she comes across that doesn't look like me... which is another reason I'm not popular."

"Abigail, can you translate for me?" Ruby thinks, letting Abigail hear.


"I believe my wife is with Crystal somewhere near the palace entry. They were waiting for Crystal's friend to return... Voidfiller, I think he's named.

 

Ruby seems to be able to understand after letting Abigail hear.

"-uch are they?" The fire guardian asks.

"If you wanted to trade in your broken claws, I could give them to you for say...Six hundred and eighty gold." Vexa says.

"S-Six hundred and eighty!?" The fire guardian asks, surprised.

"These are some finely made claws, very expertly crafted with material that won't melt quickly in high temperatures even on it's own," Vexa says, "They're sharp enough to cut stone, and precise enough to give you a good haircut."

"A-Alright, I'll take them." The fire guardian says confidently, putting a few large gold coins on the counter with a few smaller ones.

"Pleasure doing business with you." Vexa says happily, taking the money and handing the fire guardian their new claws.

"Thanks, bye!" The fire guardian says happily, putting on their new claws as they head out the door.

Vexa slides Ruby most of the gold.

"Good job, Ruby." Vexa says happily in common tongue.

 

"...I don't know the monetary denominations here, but did you just sell a demo product for a hell of a lot?"

 

Vexa nods, smiling.


OOC: Forgot about Shadow Stephanie, whoops.

Shadow Stephanie lets go of Rineth.

"I'll go and see how Crystal is, then." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"...That's not scamming, is it?"


"Thank you. I'm going to go make sure Ihra is okay... she had a pretty good idea with her diversion."

 

"No, not at all. You made a good product, and I sell most of my claws around that price if not higher." Vexa says, seeming a little offended.


"Alright, bring her back here as soon as you can if she's hurt." Shadow Stephanie says, heading out of the throne room, and further the palace, looking for Crystal and Linoa.

 

"Okay, I was just worried... I really hope she doesn't come back with those busted up. I'm not sure how they'll hold... the guardian in me seemed confident, though."
"Confident ish." Ruby thinks.


"Will do." Rineth says, vanishing.

"Don't worry, I touched them up a little this morning to make sure they were good for heavy duty use. I didn't have to do much though." Vexa says happily.

 

"Oh, that's good. Plus, I, uh... don't know how many spare materials you have, but I might be able to make a new weapon today... like, my old way. The sorceress was kind enough to let me borrow a staff for the time being while she charged mine."
