Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Some of us who were murdered do, but if we've lived our lives, there's no point in it." Sylvia says.


Stephanie hits the ground hard, ending up getting a nosebleed. Katie panics a little as I change to my larger form, opening a large portal to the Realm of Shadows and shoveling as many unconscious draconians in as possible as fast as possible.

"Get into the portal, now!" I shout at the conscious draconians.

 

Voidfiller quickly makes his way over to Stephanie, while Crystal just watches, staying on the tower.

 

"So, it's just an opportunity to visit old friends and see what's changed?"


The draconians that can rush to the portal, most getting trampled on or just freezing up out of confusion.

"Hey, artillery inbound. Move it!" Linoa screams, convincing another half of a group to go through.

"Three kills so far. Ready to cook them?"

The totem seems to be out of commission, and Stephanie seems to be relatively okay, sans nosebleed.

 

Voidfiller positions her upwards, wiping her nose.

 

"Yeah, mostly," Sylvia says happily, "Some children get to see their dead parents year after year too."


I slide the slowest draconians into the portal with a hand, trying to be as quick as possible.

 

"That's both sad and heartwarming." Ruby comments.


Linoa blocks another artillery shot, the blast catching a bit of you with your size.
"...Sorry, Aj."

 

"Yeah. Let's grab some wood and make a fire."

 

Sylvia shrugs, a feather falling off her mostly skeletal wings.


"It's fine, war has injuries." I say, playing off the pain as much less than it actually is.

 

"...Well, sorry to bother you tonight. It was nice meeting you."


"Let's get out before more come." Linoa shouts, Rineth heading through the portal and Linoa making one last glance for anyone else.

Anne's tails ignites into flames.
"Find some logs. And a clearing."

Everyone seems to be retreating at this point.

 

Crystal follows through, but Voidfiller lags behind, surveying the area.

 

"See you." Sylvia says happily, walking off.


I pick up the contents of Katie's ice dome, including the totem that shifts the field about a bit, before jumping through the portal myself.

 

"Got it."
He heads into the Woods, searching for some wood and an open area.

 

Ruby heads inside again.
"Alright... mind showing me the guest room when you get a chance?"


Linoa jumps through, and a few faeries tumble through the portal as well.

There are a few faeries who spend the last of their energy to get through the portal, and another group is en route. Not much else is nearby, other than ash and corpses.

You find a clearing and what looks to be a fire ring, but no dead wood.

A fox carries over a bundle of sticks and puts it in the fire pit, though. Maybe these are Anne's underlings?

 

"Huh. This looks good."
He goes into the Woods and collects some wood. Breaking down branches and stuff.

 

Voidfiller takes flight, scouting out the other group.

 

"Sure. I'm almost done with this blade anyway." Vexa says.


I close the portal once the faeries are through, before changing to my smaller form and collapsing, exhausted.

 

You get a decent amount of of wood in the fire pit, which Anne waits beside.
"Now?"

"Take your time."


"Voidfiller didn't make it back..." Rineth says, glancing around.

They're another normal fighting force, running from another Hive group... as the portal closes.

 

He looks at the fire pit, then at Anne.
"I think we're good. Do your thing."
He stands back.

 

Voidfiller analyzes the distance between the group and the Hive group.

 

Vexa comes out after a short while, smiling with a sharp looking blade with a golden hilt decorated with a ruby and small sapphires.


I groan, re-opening a small portal and poking my head through it, looking for voidfiller.

"VOIDFILLER COME ON!" I shout.
