Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ruby ends up in a residential part of town, various people in houses built into the sides of the mountains.


"Thanks." I say.

 

She just strolls about, returning to Vexa's workshop after another few minutes.


Xlentia looks through a portal, thousands of smaller frames visible... all of them seeming to be the vision of dead things getting buried or trampled by draconians.

 

Vexa appears to be in the back, working away.


Stephanie summons her totem, and I take a larger form to pick it up.

 

Ruby waits in the main room of the shop.
"Sorry, I went for a bit of a stroll."


"Ah, here we go. They've already wiped out these faeries, you can probably go and get a chance to set up before anything else happens." Xlentia says. "That sounds good?"

 

"See you in a bit."
He slowly continues his way into the forest.

 

The sun begins to set, the air finally cooling off.

You can see a fox chase a rabbit out of the forest.

 

"Would you look at that. Guess Anne scared them a good amount." He softly laughs.
For a few seconds, he watches the fox run by and then continues walking.
*whistle*

 

The fox gets distracted, turning to you as the rabbit hides.

 

He gently waves at the fox, although not paying to much attention to it.

 

It goes back to trying to hunt the rabbit.

Both disappear back into the forest.

 

"Huh."
He continues walking. While doing so he looks around a bit.

 

The forest is quiet, mostly... you can see rustling leaves and hear some rabbit screams every now and then. Other than that, it reminds you of home a bit.

 

"That's fine!" Vexa says from the back.


"Lets go." Stephanie says, ready.

 

"I wonder how everyone is doing at home. It has been a while."

 

"Do you need me to do anything else for today?"


Xlentia opens the portal to a pile of ash and corpses, mostly fae corpses.
"Hurry."

Nobody responds, except a songbird in... well, song.

 

"You could make some more weapons if you wanted to." Vexa says.


The group runs through, Katie creating a massive blast of water from the ground which she freezes into a tower. I jump up and put the totem atop the tower, before changing to my smaller form and readying Shadow Katana. Artemis creates thick thorns spiraling up the ice tower before creating sharp wooden spikes around it's base. An ice hand forms from the tower, grabbing Stephanie and throwing her up to the totem, where she begins to charge it. Katie dives into her tower and builds up high pressure blasts of water around it while Artemis starts to grow a grove of mushrooms designed to release paralyzing spores when stepped on.

 

He whistle back at the bird.
"Don't worry, bird. I was just talking to myself."

 

It ignores you, continuing to sing.

"Mind if I watched you make something other than gauntlets?"


The fungi are interrupted by a few bodies that don't seem to be quite dead yet, their last few breaths spent trying to get to the tower.

A red dot is visible moving about, slowly centering on the tower.
Rineth and Linoa burst through the portal, Linoa firing a bolt skywards from the dot.
The sky flashes red and white as two artillery strikes hit each other midair, the shockwave weakening the tower.

 

"Sure, come on through!" Vexa says.


Katie uses the built up water to re-freeze the tower as Artemis spins her bow around, digging it into the ground as she focuses her power. Vines snake out of the ground, wrapping around the corpses of the fallen and breathing new, necrotic life into them; making them fight for Artemis.

I look around for any approaching or hidden foes as Stephanie focuses on charging the totem.

 

Ruby heads to the back, curious.


Moans of fae and elves echo around the tower, Rineth phasing out of the realm and Linoa looking through some kind of scope.

A few dozen draconians steer clear of the tower, though a larger force is inbound.
If you're lucky, they also seem to have some kind of commander... or at least a bigger minion.
