Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"...Did Rema try and tempt you?"

 

"She did. But I friendly denied." He smiles.

 

"You're nicer than most. I've been told she hides in the dark because so many people have tried to kill her."

 

The liquid completely immerses Ihra, filling up the flower. Ihra doesn't seem to be able to drown, however, though she feels incredibly relaxed, falling slowly unconscious.


"I-I guess we can just leave it..." Abigail says.

 

She makes no effort to resist, enjoying it as she loses sensory.


"No, you're right. I shouldn't try to weave a web of lies."

 

Ihra eventually goes completely unconscious.


Ihra wakes up after a painful rest on the aeroplane, her memories of the strange dream with a girl called Artemis and strange creatures of darkness quickly fading.

"Hey, you awake? We're almost there," Ihra's friend asks, sitting next to her in his smart business suit, "I've got to admit, I'm a little nervous about this meeting. What if they reject us?"

Ihra remembers she's on a flight to a powerful business center to discuss eco-friendly tree farming with her friend and business partner.


"B-But, what if she k-kills us?" Abigail asks, scared.

 

"I barely knew her, so I had no reason to kill her."

 

"...I, uh... I'm not too sure. One step at a time, no?"


"Unless you feel like it, I don't fancy laying down and letting her bash me to death. I may be old, but these six charges in my staff is still good for turning six fools to dust."

"Well, you didn't deal with her. If you did, you probably would have a reason to kill her."

 

"Yeah, I guess you're right. What's the worst that can happen, right?" Ihra's friend says happily.


"O-Ok..." Abigail says.

 

"Worst case, they say no and we figure out what to do then." Ihra shrugs, looking at her hand.


Pause.
"I don't want to kill anyone, so you get to call the shots. Though, I should get some work done before boss comes back, so... we'll have something to soften the blow."

 

"Maybe, maybe not. But if I did, she might be stronger so I wouldn't try it."

 

"Good call. Even weakened dragons can leave a big mark. I guess that's just part of being a dragon, though."

 

Her hand is fleshy with a light tan, just like it's always been.

"We can't seriously report back saying we couldn't push our planet friendly goals though, could we?" Ihra's friend asks.


"Alright..." Abigail says nervously.

 

Ihra seems suspicious, feeling her back.
"We do what we can."


"So, I'll ask again... are you willing to help me with the gauntlet? If you don't want to, then you don't need to. Again, you know how to do this stuff and I don't. I'll take what help you're willing to give, but don't feel like you absolutely need to."

 

"Yeah...I just don't want to be fired." Ihra's friend says nervously.

Ihra finds a pillow she was resting on, and she can feel her spine.


"I'll help." Abigail says.

 

She feels for her snout, worried.


"...That means a hell of a lot to me." Ruby thinks happily, checking which mold she left in the cast.

 

She has a nose, unlike the snout from her dream.

"Are you feeling alright?" Ihra's friend asks.


The claw cast appears to be in place, the gauntlet casts nearby.

 

"N-no... what's going on?"


Ruby puts a claw near the gauntlet casts, hoping Abigail reaches for one.

 

"Did you have your medication before the flight?" Ihra's friend asks, concerned.


Abigail just shifts her claw a bit toward what seems to be the upper gauntlet cast.

 

"...What's my name?" She asks, panicking.


Ruby takes that cast and replaces the claw mold in the cast, leaving a claw near the valves.
