Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Surprise me? Why?"
He looks at the ocean.

 

Ihra heads over to the light flower, wondering why it's in the shadow realm.


"Nice to meet you, Vexa. I take it you've been told my name? Regardless, my old titles don't mean much here."

The waves are consistent and rather calm.

"I don't know. I guess she just wanted to keep you happy." The Leviathan's voice says, albeit from behind you.

 

The light flowers appear to be assisting the growth of plantlife around them, though they don't appear to be growing that well themselves.


"Ruby, right?" Vexa asks.

 

"Where did you came from?"
He looks surprised.

 

"The waters, of course. Are you going to turn around, or keep gawking at the ocean?"

Ihra seeks out the nearest forest guardian.
"Uhm... how are those light flowers able to grow here?"


"Yep, draconian preserver. Used to be a smith, then I got mind controlled. War left me like this." She shrugs.

 

"Careful growth spurts and moderation. It was hard to get them to grow, but we managed." The forest guardian says.


"That's certainly a new one." Vexa says.

 

"They don't look so healthy, though... how hard are they to maintain?"


"I've got more stuff to tell you another time. For now... I figure I should just finish this gauntlet and maybe figure out where I'm going to stay. The only smithing technique I remember involves a lot of magic energy I don't have, so I'll keep working on learning this one."

 

"Extremely." The forest guardian sighs.


"If you can't find anywhere, you can always stay upstairs. I have a guest bedroom you could use." Vexa says.

 

He turns around, facing the Leviathan.
"Hi." He awkwardly says.

 

"Well, you've pulled it off for this long... which is kind of amazing. It hasn't hurt any shadows, has it?"


"If you wouldn't mind me staying there, then please... I came here pretty much with a staff and nothing else."

You turn around to see what seems to be a fish-scaled humanoid in heavy blue scale armor.
"I saw you meet Ren, so I figure that I should introduce myself at some point. My name's Mark."
He offers a handshake.

 

"Ren? You mean the 'owner' of the phoenix?"
He looks at Mark.
"Does the same go for you and the Leviathan."
He shakes his hand.

 

"Only if they've touched them." The forest guardian says.


"Keep up the good work and you won't need to worry about paying for the room." Vexa says happily.

 

"Not quite."
His hand is dripping wet.
"I am the Leviathan."

"Huh... strange." Ihra comments, walking back over to the flower and gently touching one of the petals with a claw.


"I'll try. If you don't mind me showing off, though, I would like to ask one of my sisters to bring in something I forged long ago. I hope to be able to return to that level of skill at some point... but that's not getting these gauntlets finished."


"Abigail, let's get back to work. I'm trusting you know how to handle making the gauntlets themselves."

 

The flower's light shifts and bends, creating a few odd illusions.


"I'd like to see what you make." Vexa says happily, heading back to the front of the shop.


"Ok, I'll try." Abigail says obediently.

 

Ihra looks at the illusions, trying to see if they make any sensical images or not.


"Expect her to knock at the door in an hour." Ruby calls after Vexa.

 

The illusions just seem to be weirdly bent colours, not making any sense.


"What's it like being in control of a body?" Abigail asks.

 

She steps back, seeing what other strange flowers the area has to offer.


"Sensory overload." Ruby thinks. "Especially when you're capable of powerful telekinesis. You also get to worry about not dying."

 

There appears to be a large patch of carnivorous plants, some of them more viscous looking than others.


"That sounds hard..." Abigail says, scared.

 

Ihra looks over at them, trying to figure out what they eat based on what remains are near them.


"It's not all bad. You did it for a while before you... well, died."

 

A few of the less viscous ones don't appear to have many remains around them, though some of them have what look to be the bones of small animals and even humans around them.


"I don't remember much about dying. I remember there was fire, lots of fire, and then blackness." Abigail says.
