Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie and I appear to be sitting on our thrones chatting, in our larger forms.


"I could help more if you let me control a little more. I think I remember a few things." Abigail says.

 

Ihra taps her staff on the ground, a bit nervous.


"Sure, just remember... the more control I give you, the faster I tire. The faster I tire, the faster we both pass out." Ruby says, letting Abigail control a bit more movement.

 

Shadow Stephanie and I glance over.

"Oh, hey Ihra." I say happily.


Abigail takes the claw cast and separator and guides Ruby over to the pipes again, putting the cast in and letting some of the molten metal flow into it, before letting it cool and putting the separator in and allowing more metal to flow into it, filling two sides of the claw but leaving the middle empty. Abigail takes the separator out again and fills the hole in the middle with molten metal from the second pipe, letting it fill to the same level as the first metal before letting it cool. Abigail then fills the rest of the cast with the first metal, creating a single claw with a unique center.

 

"Hey... are you two okay?"


"This is way different than the smithing I'm used to. You think you can live with helping me at this job?"

 

"Let's go his way then."
He continues his way to the coast.

 

"Mostly." Shadow Stephanie shrugs.


"I don't really have a choice, but...this makes me feel more alive. Sort of like...coming home." Abigail says, reaching Ruby's hand toward the magma.

 

Anne keeps quiet, the sun making the walk a bit too warm for comfort... for you, at least.

"Good... I was worried that something bad might happen when Tenebrae and Lux were slain." Ihra shudders.


Ruby pulls back.
"Hey, hey, I'm not as fireproof as you are. Don't go dunking me in lava."

 

"Ugh.. the heat..."
He continues walking, a little slower than normal because of the heat.

 

"We sensed. Though, it almost feels like Tenebrae's back, weirdly." I say.


"Sorry..." Abigail says.

A bit of magma drips from the wall, splatting near the cast. Strangely, the magma doesn't appear to leak afterwards.

 

"She is."


"That aside... what's next?"

"We could stop and wait for you to cool off under a tree. I mean, the forest is a shorter walk than the shore." Anne suggests.

 

"She is? Oh, well that's good to hear." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling.


"Three more claws, then a gauntlet." Abigail says.

 

"I had Virei'tus ask Temporus to help her recover. Lux, on the other hand... that would've been a really bad idea."


"Help me one more time, then I want to see if I can remember how you did it." Ruby thinks.

 

"It's not that far. I'll cool off once I get into the water."
He tries to continue walking.

 

"Alright... If you say so."
You get a bit dizzy, but you should be able to make it at this rate.

 

"Praecantatia said he went psycho." I say.


Abigail pops the claw out of the cast before repeating the process, creating a base, then creating a separation in the middle to create an area to pour a second metal to fill it, then covering it with the first metal again to complete it.

 

"Yeah... tried to kill Xlentia. It... didn't end well for him."


Ruby repeats the pattern.
"Okay... that should be the third claw."

 

"I would think so." I say, agreeing.


"Just one more." Abigail says.

 

"Tenebrae, though... she was dragged along by Lux. I feel terrible for what happened, but..."
Ihra trails off, sighing.


"You want to take over again? You seem to enjoy it."

 

"It's not your fault, Ihra. The gods are confusing sometimes, don't blame yourself." Shadow Stephanie says kindly.


"Sure." Abigail says happily.

Partway through making the final claw, Ruby hears a voice behind her.

"What are you doing?" The shopkeeper asks with an accusatory tone.

 

Bardock continues his way towards the coast. He tries to walk in the shadow most of the time so he won't get to dizzy.
