Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Virei'tus sighs before vanishing, leaving without a trace.

He then tries to link with Caelia.
"Hey, can you phase me over to Temporus' place, please?"


Ruby sighs, walking to the throne room while doing her best to avoid bumping into anyone.

 

Virei'tus finds himself floating upward a bit, before flying through space to a desolate island in space, a doorway guarded by a bouncer on it.


A pair of black cloaked figures seem to be talking with Shadow Stephanie in her larger form.

"I will not allow you to steal the hearts of the mortals we kill to create...evil dark creatures that harvest more hearts. That's a virus that will consume realms." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

He approaches the bouncer.
"I'd assume Temporus can be found near his DJ booth, no?"


"...And you thought trusting me was a bad idea." Ruby groans.

 

"Okay. Sorry."
He looks over at the gorgon and gives her a friendly smile.

 

The gorgon smiles back, meeting your gaze as everything goes dark.

It feels like just a moment later, you open your eyes again.
"I never said it wasn't true, did I? Can't get good measurements on squirming customers, and can't get paid if they're stone." She shrugs, jotting down some notes as she removes a tape measure from your shoulder.

 

"Yeah, but I'll need your name first, pal." The bouncer says.


"Come, we have business elsewhere. We'll be back, don't you worry." One of the cloaked figures says, opening a dark portal behind him.

Ruby sees a bit of fiery red hair flow out from under the cloak of one of the dark figures as they leave through the portal.

"What do you want?" Shadow Stephanie asks bluntly, though probably stressed.

 

"Wait, so you did turn me to stone? Wouldn't that make me a little 'bigger' around everything?"

 

"Virei'tus, high god of light and divine judge."


"I was hoping you would let me go to Earth amd find a job. Nobody's willing to give me a second chance back home... and you seemed like the only person I know who wouldn't up and kill me on sight."

"Yes, I did turn you to stone. No, it didn't make you bigger."

 

The bouncer takes out a red bracelet and etches something onto it, before tossing it to Virei'tus.

"Keep that on while you're in there." The bouncer says.


"I guess that wouldn't be too far out of my range of ability..." Shadow Stephanie says, "Though, I must ask you something..."

 

He slips it on his wrist.
"Timeline anchor?"


"I'm literally at your mercy right now." Ruby sighs.

 

"And a means of keeping you safe from others, pal." The bouncer says, opening the door.


"Why do you have Abigail's eyes?" Shadow Stephanie says, appearing uncomfortably close to Ruby and getting in her face, staring dead-on into her eyes.

 

Virei'tus nods, entering without saying another word.


"...because she's not gone yet."

 

As Virei'tus enters, he's hit with loud party music, hundreds of thousands of people dancing as lasers and mist fill the room, a myriad of smells hitting him. There appears to be a long, large bar off to the side where people seem to be buying drinks and snacks, some of them who appear to have had too much futilely attempting to hold back their puke.


"What do you know of Abigail? Where is she? What did you do to her to get her eyes?" Shadow Stephanie asks, serious.

 

"Oh.. I guess."
He looks a bit confused at the gorgon.
"So you go our measurements. What now?"

 

Virei'tus looks around for the DJ booth and heads straight for it, phasing through just about everything.


"Hey, hey, hey... please, calm down. If I die, she dies..."


"Hey, Abigail. You done shunning me yet? I'm sure an old friend would love a hug..."

"What materials do you want your suit made of? Simple cloth, or something fancier like touches of lace?"

 

Temporus is in the booth, controlling the music, lights, just about everything.


"What did you do to her!?" Shadow Stephanie asks, a metallic clunk behind Ruby.


"A-An old friend? Who? Please, can I see them?" Abigail asks, desperate.

 

"I think the simple cloth will do. Don't you think, Anne?"

 

Virei'tus glances to the sides of the DJ booth, expecting the Temporus in the booth to stem from a different timeline.


"I saved her... by the only means I could."
Her eyes flare up slightly.


Abigail can see through Ruby's eyes, Shadow Stephanie up in Ruby's face.

"Yeah, suits don't tend to have anything super fancy. Me on the other hand..." Anne giggles.

 

Temporus appears to be flipping a coin nearby, dressed in his usual smart suit, catching the coin before flipping it in the air again.


"What means?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"I...I want to hug her. Shadow Stephanie was her name, wasn't it?" Abigail asks.

 

"I suppose you already know why I'm here."


"If I die, Abigail dies... she's currently a part of me."


Abigial feels the chill of the Realm of Shadows, then a hug as Ruby steps forward and hugs Shadow Stephanie.
