"I'd love to help, but I can't really go anywhere. I'm worried about Praecantatia psyblasting me if I try to escape, or using me as a minion instead of Tenebrae." I explain.

 

"I want you to stay too. You said Tenebrae could reabsorb you at any time...? I couldn't bring myself to fight if I had to pick which friend to lose!"

 

"Yeah, but Praecantatia told me it'd better to use me for my own power rather than a small boost to her own. Besides, I'd look like me, so I'd have the jump and..." I say, before pausing, "I'm probably not helping."

 

"What about my father?"
He looks up, suprised.

 

"You really aren't. Just... please make sure the others are okay."

 

"Katie, Stephanie and Artemis are here, and they seem fine. I've mostly just been trying to keep Artemis happy." I say.

 

A blue-scaled wyvern watches you from above.
"He was desperate. He spoke to Rema... but do you know what he was?"

"...Tell Artemis that Sgavrinn is okay, but a little nuts over being unable to reach her telepathically. I'm trying to make the most of the time I have before this becomes a bigger mess."

 

"I will, stay safe Ihra," I say, "I'd blame myself if something happened to you."

 

"You'd better!" She chuckles. "Mother put a hell of a lot of trust onto you if I keep getting myself into this much trouble!"

 

"Most people I murder have like, zero trust for me. I guess that's a positive change for once." I say.

 

Ihra laughs, cutting the link.

 

Onyx purrs in her sleep lightly, her innocent obliviousness to everything else instilling a sense of peace in Ihra for a few moments.

 

He looks at the wyvern.
"A lycanthrope, perhaps?"

 

Ihra smiles, though she quickly puts her guard up again, worried.

"Correct."

 

Ihra sees a red glow out of the corner of her eye.

 

"Why did he speak Rema?"
He looks confused at the wyvern.

 

Ihra stands up, shielding herself and staring straight at it.
"Xlentia."
"I see it, I see it..."

"To control his curse. In result, he passed down his curse to you... yet, lycanthropy is not your curse."

 

“Not the time for tricks anymore?”
I ask, standing up and pocketing the cards.

 

"...Nope."

 

"Then whose curse is it then? My father's?"
