"Your neighbor, Gram. He had to do something important real quick."

 

"Oh, he went over to help fight the wildfire on the mainland. Still raging, you know?"

 

"Still? Oh, I guess. But that's not why I'm here."
*sigh*
"I need some help with my curse."

 

"Your curse? What curse?" Siln asks, curious.

 

"If it has any meaning to you, events have conspired to steer this timeline toward the ones where our reality still accepts the wounded from yours. Whether this will last, however, can be decided by you, as these events have been to." Temporus says, glancing at Caelia.

Caelia clicks her fingers, and a portal to Xlentia's chamber opens behind Ihra.

"If you wish to stay and chat with us, you may, for on just as many timelines do you leave here do you stay. However, I cannot say the same for your influence on Lux if you do decide to leave." Temporus says, idly checking his recently returned pocketwatch.

"I do find things a lot calmer here without Praecantatia acting childish, or Tenebrae and Lux having relationship struggles with new developments." Caelia says calmly, glancing at Ihra.

 

Ihra pauses.
"...If I didn't speak of their child, you would have. You seem like that kind of person to me." She says, glancing at Temporus.

 

"No, I wouldn't have. Praecantatia would have silenced me before I'd have the option to. You speaking out was an unexpected outcome," Temporus says, "Many things I can expect to happen, like your friend's mother sacrificing herself to revive you, but you acted like quite the wildcard. Something I admire, actually."

 

"The lycanthrope thing. Don't know if its a curse or not, but lets just go with it."
Pause.
"I need help controlling it."

 

Ihra smiles weakly, glancing at the Watch of True Time.
"I suppose that watch being in the right hands won't stop me from hating its use... I can't just let Lux attack Xlentia. It would likely damage both realms, and bring them closer together."
Pause.
"...I don't know what other choice I have."

"Aren't you either born with it or not?" Siln asks, trailing off.

"Well, if you'd wait until morning, I could ask the sorcerers."

 

"I don't know how it works. My parents weren't werewolves, or I didn't know atleast."

 

"Your mother's death was never an intended use of this watch, nor was it intended for the timeline. It was through it's misuse that it happened," Temporus explains, "You have a lot of time, child, though if you'd like to stay, I can buy you more."

 

"In that case, I'll bring you to the sorcerers in the morning. Most of them are asleep by now, except for maybe Rema... but I'd try to avoid dealing with her if I were you."

She seems unsure.
"...What could I do?"

 

"Could? Anything, really. Though I'd say your two main choices are to stay or to leave." Temporus says

 

"What good would come of staying?"

 

"We could have a meeting not unlike the one we were having before the others left. You could sway Caelia, Gaia, Mortius and I to assist you, which is what you wanted, isn't it?" Temporus asks, "Though if you leave, you may have a harder time protecting Xlentia from Lux's wrath. You'd be on your own."

 

Ihra sighs.
"I suppose staying is worth the risk, in that case."

 

"Why? Something wrong with her?"

 

"What risk do you perceive?" Temporus asks.

 

"Xlentia's death, were Lux to strike before she is alerted. Virei'tus could overpower Lux as long as he was fueled by rage, but not by much."

"I think the polite term for her is 'user of black magic,' though most people call her a witch anyways."

 

"Do you forget my role within this reality? If you're worried about a lack of preparation time, I've already offered to buy you some." Temporus says.

Caelia rolls her eyes.
