Ihra just squirms.


The staff lands on the table with a thud, holding perfect shape despite embedding itself in the table.

 

Gaia stops hugging Ihra, putting her back down onto the table.

 

Ihra slowly sits up.
"I-I haven't g-gotten that a-angry s-since mother died... I-I'm so sorry..." She says between tears.

 

Lux seems to have put his arm around Tenebrae's shoulder, walking her through a portal as she cries.

"Well, this meeting has gone great." Temporus says, laying back.

 

"Y-yes... t-thank you for ruining m-my day..."

 

"Now you know why we don't invite mortals to our meetings." Temporus says, smiling.

 

"W-why do you h-have so much to hide? A-aren't gods followed b-because they're r-righteous and h-have a b-belief a lot of p-people like?"

 

"If you interact with mortals too much, they become reliant on you and shun you when things don't go their way. If you don't interact with mortals enough, they stop believing in you and start making up their own deluded beliefs." Caelia explains.

 

"H-how do you know t-the former to be true?"

 

"Honey, we've lived long enough to try both ends of the spectrum." Caelia says.

 

"You must really hate your followers..."

 

"Darnit. I got worse."
He throws a new rock in the middle, aiming for the corners.

 

It bounces too far, going out of the square entirely.

 

"What the hell?! I won't a few days ago and now I can't even throw my stones in the middle."
He tosses another stone in the middle, aiming for the corners.

 

That's a winning throw.

"Hey, did I miss the invite to- hey... who're you?" Another dragon asks, brown scales blending in a bit with the stone and dirt.

 

"I came here for Siln. But he isn't home so I thought I should wait a bit. Playing some Stones and stuff."

 

"Oh, I'm his neighbor, Gram. You want to play a round while we wait?"

 

"Yes please. I'm a bit rusty though, don't know how."
He collects the stones he threw.

 

"You seem to get the point. Contact in the middle, land on a corner. What color you want?"

 

"I'll take blue."
He holds out his hands, holding the red stones.
"Here you go, Gram."
