Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

A gigantic portal opens up to what looks like an overgrown paradise, a few guardians, humans and other creatures running about or enjoying themselves. Praecantatia steps through the portal, trying to avoid stepping on anyone as she heads toward someone who appears to be a gigantic forest guardian.

"Whoa..." Artemis says, running through the portal into the heavenly realm, flowers of vibrant colours and plants of every kind growing seemingly everywhere, warm sunlight beating down on the overgrown ground.

 

Ihra runs through, following Artemis.
Sgavrinn beelines for the giant forest guardian.

 

Katie and Stephanie are right behind Ihra, a few tropical-looking water guardians spraying each other with water and laughing.

Praecantatia and the giant forest guardian begin to head off, before Praecantatia turns around, kneeling down and putting her hand on the ground.

"Jump on, the meeting is this way." Praecantatia says.

Artemis and Stephanie climb onto Praecantatia's hand, while Katie boosts herself up with a blast of water.

 

Ihra gets on, Sgavrinn turning and landing, nuzzling Praecantatia's hand and then Artemis.

 

Praecantatia lifts up her hand, walking over to the giant forest guardian.

"So, are the others here yet?" Praecantatia asks.

"Everyone except Theodore." Gaia says.

"It's not like him to be late." Praecantatia says.

Gaia gives Praecantatia a flat look.

"Right...he's never 'late', he arrives 'on time'." Praecantatia says.

"I haven't had the heart to tell him that he's kind of being obnoxious when he does that." Gaia says, sighing.

 

Sgavrinn glides over to Gaia, landing on her and humming.
Attention seeker...


Ihra looks around for the other gods.

 

"Oh, hello you!" Gaia says happily, gently petting Sgavrinn with a finger.


Ihra can't see the other gods yet, but the amount of people below appear to be lessening the further Praecantatia walks.

 

He hums, licking Gaia's finger as he continues to nuzzle her.

Ihra keeps looking around, curious.

 

Gaia smiles, continuing to pet Sgavrinn.


Eventually, Ihra can see a massive table with various different chairs ahead, as well as much smaller chairs on the table itself. Each god appears to be sitting in each chair, Tenebrae in a dark chair, Lux in a light chair, Mortius in a chair made of bone and Caelia in a chair that seems to reflect the area around it. Temporus appears in a chair made of clockwork, already sitting as Gaia heads to an overgrown chair at the head of the table and Praecantatia to a seemingly ordinary chair with a strong magical aura, putting the group down.

The smaller chairs on the table appear to be put in front of specific gods, a pair of chairs in front of Gaia, one in front of Praecantatia, one in front of Tenebrae and one in front of Caelia.

I separate from Artemis, going to sit in front of Tenebrae, who smiles down at me.

"Ugh, what is he doing here?" Caelia asks, looking at me.

"I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't refer to the king of my realm in such a manner, Caelia." Tenebrae says, slightly annoyed.

"Your 'King' was the thief that stole my watch, or did he not tell you?" Temporus asks, angry.

Gaia slams her hands on the table, making the chairs, and everyone bar Mortius, jump.

"Our formal meetings are not the time for your petty bickering about mortals!" Gaia shouts.

 

Ihra giggles, mainly looking at Lux.
Sgavrinn stays near Gaia.

 

Lux just looks a little fed up, a few papers in his hand.

Artemis and Katie take their seats in front of Gaia, and Stephanie takes hers in front of her Mother.

 

Ihra waits, Sgavrinn curling up around Artemis.

 

"Right then. This begins our meeting." Gaia says.

"I have some news and a possible issue I'd like to bring up." Lux says, putting his papers onto the table.

"Go ahead, Lux." Gaia says approvingly.

"As you all know, we came to the decision that I should wipe my realm of my once highly dangerous children for fears of them accessing the alternate reality Tenebrae began interactions with. They have since then been much more peaceful, and they've learned to treat not only themselves but Gaia's children with respect, and they only wish to have peace. However, I have noticed a recent and quite large influx of beings from the alternate reality I feared they'd invade, mostly in the main kingdom but in some cases branching outwards. We all know of the wars that reality is facing, however, I believe it is only a matter of time before one of the miscreants of that reality sneaks their way into my peaceful realm and abuses said trait, creating an entrance to our reality and putting it in mass danger." Lux explains.

"So...what should we do? Block them off from entering your realm?" Caelia suggests.

"That was my original idea, though they seem to be taking in the victims of the war to heal and care for them, opening up the realm as a sort of sanctuary." Lux says.

"Send the victims back once they're healed. None stay, none do harm." Mortius says coldly.

"But would it really be right to do that? I mean, they're coming from a reality where their war is inescapable. Sending them back would just cause them to come back a day later with more wounds." Praecantatia says.

"That just increases the risk of our reality being invaded by it too. The war between Lux and I's realm started from the abuse of trust. If you let people trickle in from that reality, the war will slowly trickle through too." Tenebrae says.

"A lot of possible timelines involve our reality being taken over by the control of the others from this, and even we're not immune to the control." Temporus says.

"Those are just possible timelines though. We still have ones where that doesn't happen, correct?" Gaia asks.

"Correct, but do you really want to chance it?" Temporus asks.

"I agree with Temporus here. Tenebrae's reality is viscous enough to weed out the threats, mine is not." Lux says.

 

Ihra seems cross.
"...I know this isn't my place to talk, but if the refugees are permanently crippled, how will they take over?" She asks.

 

"Looks can be deceiving. One of the refugees might just be acting crippled to abuse the realm's kind nature, then when they've taken them in and have been tricked into thinking they need help, they strike when it's least expected." Caelia says.

"I doubt a figure like the Hive Master would hear of a realm taking in the refugees of his war and not want to find out how to get to it to invade it." Lux says.

"Any one of those cripples could be a wolf in sheep's clothing." Mortius says.

 

Ihra sighs.
"...If my kind is not welcome in this reality, I will stop them from commuting here."
Pause.
"I don't know how Xlentia or Virei'tus would feel, but this isn't their domain."

 

"Well, let's not be too hasty here. Maybe we could just up the security? We can't just sit around and let the refugees of the war die in pain!" Gaia says.

"I have to agree, war takes it's toll on everyone. We should provide some sort of asylum away from it." Tenebrae says.

"Oh, speaking of Xlentia..." Temporus says, looking at Praecantatia.

Praecantatia shakes her head, drawing a line across her throat.

"What of her?" Lux asks.

"Oh, we can talk about her after your first problem." Temporus says, smug.

Praecantatia glares at Temporus.

 

Ihra seems confused.
"...What did she do?"

 

"Let's just say she altered a few memories, wiped a few things off the whiteboard." Temporus says, laid back.

Praecantatia clears her throat, "Perhaps we should stay on topic of our reality being invaded and enslaved?" Praecantatia asks.

"I am curious to this memory altering." Mortius says.

"Yeah, who did she do it to? If you're just messing around with us and she did it to one of the mortals in this reality, I'm going to be annoyed." Tenebrae asks.

 

Ihra pauses.
"...She was mind controlled, but that matter is for Emerald to speak of, not any of you." She says, suddenly confident and assertive.
