Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, I thought we were going to see Artemis instead," I say, before turning to Praecantatia, "We were wondering if it might be possible to join you on one of your meetings with the other gods. Stephanie originally wanted to go with you, and Ihra wanted to meet all of the gods of this world since she was absent in meeting a lot of them as well as when the gateway between our two realities was really opened for the first time. "

"Well...I'm not really sure how possible that would actually be. We've never had any mortals at our meetings before, nor any demigods for that matter. I could try contacting the others to see if they're all right with it, but I don't expect them to be." Praecantatia explains.

"Well, if you could at least tell us what they say once you've contacted them all, that'd be nice. We're not some rag-tag team of mortals either, Tenebrae came to my birthday party." I say happily.

"I know, she mentioned it in the meeting after. She also thinks it's cute how you get on with Artemis, but I digress," Praecantatia says, "Didn't you want travel back to Earth to see her?"

I nod.

 

Ihra shrugs.
"Sgavrinn's still around, right?"

 

"I haven't actually seen him. I think he went off on his own adventure." I say.

 

"Oh... I hope he's okay."

 

"He's probably having fun." I say positively.

Praecantatia summons a large metal disc of sorts, putting it on the carpet in front of her.

"I'm guessing you want to go back to your home on Earth?" Praecantatia asks.

"Yeah, shame I can't use my portal gun to get back there." I say, summoning my portal gun to my hand.

"Oh, I remember making that with Caelia. How did you get it?" Praecantatia asks, slightly suspicious.

"She gave it to me in exchange for Temporus' missing watch, which I apparently 'stole'." I explain.

"Well, I'm glad it's in good hands. Temporus wouldn't stop going on about his watch either." Praecantatia says, before clicking her fingers. The metal disc in front of her glows green, before a portal to Earth opens up above it.

"Thanks, Praecantatia!" I say happily, glancing back at Ihra.

 

*yawn*
"Ugh. Please don't let this be a bad dream again."
He tries to fall asleep on the cold, stone floor.

 

You drift off...


When you wake, sunlight peeks through the cracks.

She runs to the portal, happily waving at Praecantatia.

 

Praecantatia waves back, smiling. I step through after Ihra, and the portal closes.

The portal seems to lead to the back exit of Aj's home on Earth, a large garden and forest ahead of Ihra. Ihra can see Shadow Stephanie drinking an odd looking cup of coffee bought from a coffee shop whilst sitting in a chair on the grass, an umbrella up to protect her from the sunlight. Further up the garden Ihra can see Artemis lying down next to what looks to be a fruit and vegetable patch, appearing to be asleep.

 

"Is it over?"
He looks at his hands, checking if they are claws or not.

 

Ihra heads to the garden, looking around at the flowers.

"Hey!" Alice says in your mind, startling you. "Why'd you never introduce me? Didn't lady Tenebrae give you the ability to detect me on your birthday?"

Normal hands.
It's over.

...Now somebody needs to let you out.

 

"Hello?! Could someone remove the stone?"

 

No response.
Scream louder, maybe?

 

A lot of the flowers seem common to meadows, dandelions, oxeye daisies and even patches of thistle grow around the garden. A large blackberry bush seems to have grown around a rotting tree stump, the blackberries in season, looking bulbous and juicy.

"I think she gave me the ability to hide within others without them noticing," I say, "And anyway, if I had introduced you and said you could hide in people without them noticing, Praecantatia might have acted out against you."

 

Ihra wanders over to Artemis, brushing her gently with her tail to see if she's awake.

"Oh, right. Oh well... I can come out and say hello now, right?"

 

Artemis seems to be asleep next to a pair of small pumpkins, tears still streaming down her face as her hand loosely clutches Myria's necklace. A pair of signs appear to be stuck in the dirt in front of the pumpkins, one reading 'Artemis' and the other 'Myria'.

"If you want." I say.

 

"HELLO?! ANYBODY?!"

 

Ihra rolls Artemis over.

"Yes! Is now okay, or is Artemis actually dead?"

Padding.

"I'll go get Ren." Anne says, padding off again.

 

Artemis moans a bit, rolling back over.


"I don't think she killed herself over losing her mother." I say flatly.

 

"Thank you."
He feels his throat.
"Ouch, all that screaming hurts my throat."

 

Ihra rolls her over again.
"Come on.

"She made a grave for herself." Alice says, coming out of hiding.

You could go for some water.
...If there was any drinkable water nearby.
