Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Ren? Is that you?"

 

"No, it's your girl." Anne says quietly. "You hanging in there?"

 

"A little. Has Ren found any food yet?"

 

"In a sense." I say, the doors sliding open into hallway made of roots.


"Believe what you will, but I can say through my kingdom at risk, I'm not going to attack you." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Aren't they a guardian? You have, like, no humans here."


Pause.
"...How about a deal? I can hardly evade Eve in this state. If you can promise me she's off my case, I'll throw caution to the wind and show myself to you."

"Yeah. Do you want me to try and slide some in through a crack in the rocks?"

 

"Yes please. I'm hungry."

 

"All I can carry is a rabbit. Give me a minute."
You can hear her pad out of the cave.

 

"Okay. Thank you." He happely says.

 

A minute later, a rabbit is dropped through a gap in the rocks.
"There you go. I'm going to put some distance between us, just in case." Anne says, a bit nervous.

 

"Understood." He says
He grabs the rabbit.
"Thank you."
He starts eating.

 

You feel better, but as you eat, the blood from the rabbit makes you start lusting for more...

Another surge. Your senses begin to awaken.

 

He slaps himself.
"Snap out of it."

 

Your senses waver, but you still feel the rush.
Your thoughts begin to switch from focus to bloodlust.

 

"Aaah!"
He bangs his head against the wall, trying to either lose consciousness or to lose the thoughts.

 

This... doesn't work as well.
You wind up making yourself dizzy during this affair, and you start to tense up involuntarily.
Much further, and you can only hope the rock holds you in.

 

"Ow. Ow. Ow."
He focuses.
"Okay, keep it together. Just. Calm. Down."
He slows his breathing.

 

Dizzy and weary, you manage to stave off this rush.

You don't know how much longer this terrible night will feel like it drags on, but you have no sense of time from this cave.

 

"Just.. gotta relax."
He lays down, trying to sleep or something.

 

The cave floor is rough rock. If only Sgavrinn didn't spoil you with such a nice bed, you might be able to fall asleep...

 

"Ugh.."
Just gotta keep trying.
