Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Xlentia eventually finds me scouting around her chambers, appearing and disappearing at seemingly random locations.

 

"...Aj, what are you doing?" She asks, glancing at you as you appear.

 

"Evaluating the area for the best place to perform the ritual." I say, disappearing and appearing next the gold pile.

 

She sighs, shifting a bit and revealing a sigil.
"Emerald already set up most of the stuff."

 

"Oh, she has?" I ask, glancing up at the sigil.

 

It seems to have six places for objects, among other smaller designs.

 

"Huh, that works." I say.

 

"Well... you about ready? Got all the crap and stuff?" She asks.

 

"Oh, sure. I guess."
He looks at the pelts.
"But where do I find any potential buyers?"

 

"Yeah, but Shadow Stephanie wanted a meeting beforehand to determine who the sacrifice is going to be." I say.

 

"What sacrifice?" Xlentia asks, confused.
"I... was hoping you wouldn't tell her." Emerald sighs, showing herself at Xlentia's chamber doorway.
"What do you mean? We have to sacrifice one of the nice people?!"
"Yep."
Xlentia falls silent, put-off.

"No, not you. Me. I fly to the island each night. Hunt, feed, and then I bring back pelts to clean here. I'm going to bring some of these back and try to sell them. Make this place a home."

 

"Shadow Stephanie wanted to do it at first, but decided a meeting would be better so everyone is on the same page." I say.

 

Xlentia keeps quiet.

Emerald turns to leave.
"...Do you even have all five artifacts?"

 

"Oh, okay. That makes more sense."
He looks at the pelts.
"Those are some nice pelts, if I'm honest."

 

"I've heard that a lot. Cleaning them is easy when you've already removed all the blood."

 

"Yeah, that's pretty easy for someone with your abilities."
He looks at the pelts again (what kind of pelts are there?)
"Maybe I could use those. My clothes are burned and I could use some pelts or something."

 

"What were they again?" I ask.

 

A few dozen rabbit pelts, two bear pelts, and a few deerskins.

"If I get any extra tonight, I'll pass them off to you. I need the money to make this place nicer."

"You have the two scales, then the three stones. At least, you should have them."

 

"That's fine. Would it be okay if I explore the cave a bit while you're gone?"

 

"I definitely got the scales, and I got a relic from the Anubi and some blood god or witch or whatever. Oh, and the prophet's heart, right?" I ask.
