He looks confused into the cave.

 

"Haven't you heard all the stories? You know, vampires and werewolves? All the books and movies acting like we're all evil and spread like a plague?"

 

"Oh. Well yes. But, I never really thought about it."
Pause.
"So, you're a vampire then?"

 

"Yeah. Pretty much the last one around here. I don't have the heart to go around turning people who don't want to be turned."

"Why are they leaving
Where are they going"

 

"So we're both the last of our kind then? What a coincidence." He chuckles

 

"Yeah. I, uh... I guess. Haven't found any others, at least."

"Is there something happening outside"

Xlentia steps partway into the Realm of Shadow, trying to telepathically link with Tenebrae.

 

"I t ' s f i n e , I j u s t a s s u m e d t h e w o r s t w h e n I r e t u r n e d a n d y o u w e r e n ' t t h e r e" Amethyst feels.


Xlentia can't seem to, Tenebrae seemingly non-existent even.

 

"You kinda left the door open"


Annoyed, she checks to see if any guards are at the gate.

 

"S o r r y" Amethyst feels.


A couple of guards appear to be by the gate.

 

"No
Im sorry for bolting"


"Hey, do you know where your king is?"

 

"Yay... guess you know how it feels too?"

 

Amethyst feels another hug, though this time appropriately sized.


"Isn't he in your realm?" One of the guards asks.

 

She hugs Bea back.


"I didn't notice him when I walked through my palace. Figured you guys usually know where he is better than I do."

"Heh... Yeah. I take it you came here thinking there was nobody?"

 

"Yeah, in a way. Someone told me you wouldn't be here."

 

"He said he was preparing for the ritual after The Queen told him they'd be doing it sometime soon." The guard says.

 

"Well, I'll be leaving once the moon rises. Try and earn some coin by selling the pelts of the animals I feed on."

"Oh... okay. I'll go get prepared for it, then. Emerald was all flustered, so that explains why. Thanks, little mortal!" She says, backing up through the portal and closing it.
