Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What...are you?" The waiter asks, confused.

 

"...Can I tell you in private?" She asks, nervous.

 

"Uh, sure." The waiter says, heading through the kitchen to a trapdoor, opening it up and heading down to a wine cellar.

 

Ali follows them, glancing to check if anyone else is following her.

 

A few waiters and waitresses carry a few dishes in and out of the kitchen, but nobody seems to be following her.

 

She heads down into the wine cellar.
"Okay... let's start from the ground up. My name is Ali, and I'm not from this world. I left my people and home to join a shadow king in hopes that his travels may reunite me with my sister."

 

"Jesus christ, you're with the Shadows!?" The waiter exclaims, backing up.

 

"No, no, not in that sense. I don't take orders from shadows, and I am a servant of the suns."

 

"Yeah. Not really magical if you ask me."

 

The waiter sighs, relieved.

"Those things are horrible, they kill anyone they see on sight without mercy, you'd be lucky to survive until morning if one was in your village." The waiter says.

 

Ali nods.
"Their homicidal ways disgust me, but I don't know if there's a much better ally to have than the royal shadows themselves. They even offered me a job as a cook at their palace... I turned it down, obviously."

"I know, right? Funny how people learn so much magic to do it, when all you need to do is manage to fall asleep while you're asleep."

 

"I wouldn't think anyone but a Shadow would enjoy cutting up thousands of humans for consumption," The waiter says, "I'm probably one of the few people these days that believes in Shadows, and has seen one and survived. They've become a scary story for children and teenagers."

 

"They have an entire world and goddess, you know? You're not insane; they're real."

 

"I know, but they've got better at what they do. People who go missing are just forgotten about, and corpses are just tied to murderers. People aren't scared of the dark as much as they should be." The waiter says.

 

"I knew it was something. I kept seeing Sgavrinn in my dreams, which can't be a coincidence."

 

Ali nods.
"I cannot speak for that, but you may be someone I'd like to ask...

...would you know where I could find a creature of light?"

"Well, that and you keep thinking about him."

 

"Anywhere, really. They can look like anyone, but they always have blue eyes, and they avoid darkness and like light." The waiter says.

 

"What do you mean? The only thing related to Sgavrinn that I think about would be either Ragnyon... or that sweet. Sweet. Matress."

 

"So, look for blue eyes... and look for anyone who takes particular interest in light?" She asks, her hand glowing.

"That'd be why. Sleeping well."

 

"Who knows. It's not as if I don't enjoy having him in my dreams."
