Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Just take the food to the tables." The waiter says.

 

"Alright. Should I just wait here until more plates come out?"

 

The waiter nods, heading out of the kitchen.

Three more plates are put on the collection counter, marked with table numbers 5a and 1d.

 

Ali grabs them, taking note which table has two dishes going to it as she heads out towards those tables.

 

Various people chat and wait in their chairs, the table with two dishes having a nervous couple sat at it, probably on their first date.

 

Ali slides over and serves them first.
"Here you go, enjoy." She says.

 

"So you keep following me? Okay."

 

"Thanks." They say, eating their food hungrily.

 

"I was sticking with Anne, but you travelling with her makes it look like I'm following you."

Ali quickly slides off to the next table, putting the plate on the table almost stealthily as she soon returns to the kitchen.

 

Ali manages to miss a couple more dishes as another waitress takes them, heading out of the kitchen.

 

She checks the time, waiting for the next few dishes.

 

A clock on the wall reads 5:45, presumably PM.

Four more dishes are set out as three dirty plates are brought back.

 

Ali takes all four, checking the tables and running them to the customers before sweeping for dirty dishes and bringing them back.

 

Ali bumps into the waiter that showed her around the first time as she returns to the kitchen with dirty dishes.

"Wow, you seem rather talented at this job." The waiter says, surprised.

 

"Thanks. Used to run a cafe on my own, covered twenty tables plus cooking. This feels like downtime compared to those dinner rushes." She says, hands glowing slightly for a moment before she looks for other dishes to bring out.

 

There don't seem to be any more dishes.

"Well, let's hope you don't put us out of the job, haha." The waiter laughs nervously.

 

Ali chuckles.
"I'm only here one night. Just trying to have a room for the night before I keep wandering. Staying in one place won't help me find my missing sister."

 

"Well, I wish you the best of luck with finding her. It must be hard not knowing where she is." The waiter says, before heading out to the front of the bar at the ring of a bell.

 

"Thanks."
Ali waits for more dishes.

 

Eventually a few more dishes come through for Ali to take.
