Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie puts a bit of cheese on her spaghetti partway through eating it, though everyone stays quiet as they eat.

"That was delicious! Thank you, Praecantatia." Katie says happily after she finishes.

"You're very welcome, Katie." Praecantatia responds, smiling.

Everyone else soon finishes their spaghetti, and Praecantatia picks up the plates and cutlery and takes them out.

"Would any of you like anything for dessert?" Praecantatia calls from the kitchen.

"Could I get some apple slices please Mum?" Stephanie asks, half shouting.

"Please could I have some ice cream?" Katie asks.

"Sure thing!" Praecantatia calls back.

 

Emerald keeps quiet, looking at her lap.

 

"You feeling alright?" Shadow Stephanie inquires.

 

"Mostly. I feel like I was in the middle of a ritual..."

 

"What do you mean?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Like, I started some kind of ritual and forgot what it was for."

 

"I...think that might be your memories coming back to you." Shadow Stephanie says.

Praecantatia brings in a plate of apple slices and a bowl of ice cream, putting them down in front of Stephanie and Katie respectively with a fork and spoon.

Katie gasps with enjoyment, and Praecantatia smiles at her; Katie digging her spoon into the ice cream immediately.

 

"Was I preparing for something?"

 

"Well, we're planning on performing a ritual to separate a draconian called Ihra from Xlentia's heart." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Is... that why I have a note that says five relics?"

 

"Probably, I'm fairly certain that's the number we needed to get." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"You know, there's one other other thing needed... One that I don't know why you haven't been told yet."

 

"A thousand human souls?" Shadow Stephanie guesses.

 

"The heart, body, mind, and soul of a loved one. One of whoever you're trying to resurrect."

 

"Wait so...Ihra's heart, body, mind and soul?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"No, one of her close friends or a loved one."

 

"Oh...hm...Any one of a close friend of Ihra, right?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Yeah. Essentially a sacrifice that she likes."

 

"So...the person won't come back?" Shadow Stephanie confirms.

 

"Yes. A trade, if you will."
