Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The creature flings open it's wings, and a barrage of large fireballs fly outward, arcing upwards before falling downward. Praecantatia rapidly dives out of the way of a few of the fireballs, the fireballs themselves exploding outward, a lingering fire growing further out before dissipating after they land. Praecantatia quickly takes the opportunity to fire her final round at the creature, managing to hit it, but not kill it.

"I hope we don't encounter any of those on our adventures..." Katie says worriedly.

 

"Once you get on!" Anne calls from the Leviathan's back.

"I'd hope you could manage it if you did fight one."

 

Praecantatia rushes over to one of the glass orbs as the creature spits out a massive green egg, a large toad-like creature hatching from it. The creature charges Praecantatia as she retrieves another rocket, barely turning around in time to see it coming. Praecantatia rolls out of the way of the toad-like creature, before running up behind it. The toad-like creature turns around at the edge of the island, ready to charge again before Praecantatia pushes it off the island and into the acid, the creature writhing and roaring as it melts.

Praecantatia waits for the larger creature's next move, before priming her rocket as it covers itself over again. The rocket flies toward the creature as it releases another barrage of fireballs, hitting it dead on and knocking it down into the acid, the creature spinning as it falls. Praecantatia avoids the fireballs as they land before sitting down, exhausted as the larger creature melts away into the acid. The island begins to shake, descending to the level the other islands are at.

Stephanie and Katie cheer, happy.

 

Emerald seems a bit worried, but claps anyways.

 

Praecantatia soon disappears from the island, seemingly teleporting away as the island starts to crumble away.

"We should probably get moving, unless we want to see what's below all these islands." Shadow Stephanie says, taking Katie off the island, Stephanie following.

 

Emerald flies after them, glancing back at the crumbling island.

 

I lag behind a bit, but follow as well.

 

The island breaks away into large chunks, falling into the abyss below.

The group seems to be headed for the large tree in the center of the islands.

 

Emerald silently follows.

 

"How did you...?"
He gets on top of the Leviathan.
"There. Let's go."

 

The journey takes about half an hour, but the group eventually arrives at the tree, crickets audible in the moonlit grass around them.

 

"She wasn't talking." It chuckles, turning and starting to pick up speed.

"Well, I suppose this is a good time for discussion, again."

Emerald lands behind Stephanie.
"Let's have the one who knows stuff lead."

 

Shadow Stephanie appears next to Katie, who stumbles a bit. Stephanie heads up to the tree, opening a secret doorway into a small room.

"Here's the way in." Stephanie says, entering the small room, Katie and Shadow Stephanie following as Stephanie reveals a hidden keypad, typing a code into it quickly.

 

Emerald keeps somewhat close to Katie.

Stephanie waits for you to enter the room with the others, smiling.

 

I enter and look around, following the group.

 

The room is rather small, and everything appears to be wooden. The door closes automatically, and it seems to start moving downward.

 

"Anything you want to talk about?"

 

"Elevator?"
I ask Stephanie.

 

Stephanie nods, smiling.

After a short while, the doors open again into a hallway lined with roots and wood, the floor made of stone slabs.

"It's this way." Stephanie says, stepping out into the hallway.
