Dez:"come on now we won't want anybody to overhear our conversation follow me I know a private place"
I lead him in the nearest ally then ask
Dez:"Are you the real bartender?"

Well as vaguely as Obi-Wan's "Vader killed you father" line, but still

It takes around 5 minutes for you two to descend the hill back down to the town. The evening has a few people out, but not many. Most of the activity seems to be in the town market, where everything is closing up, the local tavern, and down by the docks. There aren't many cultists out, and those that you do see quickly slink away into the shadows and disappear, almost as if they're teleporting. Well, they could just be that sneaky.

Bartender(?): "No. I simply used charm person on the actual bartender and posed as her brother returning to town after a couple years. I simply use the bartender disguise as a means to an end."

 

Leon: (whispering) “I would very much prefer to sleep under the presence of the stars, but that is far too dangerous with a bright red target across my back. Let us search for a tavern, comrade. That will give us enough cover.”

I search for a tavern.

Edit: By the way, if you were wondering how to read Leon’s lines/ what accent he speaks in, just imagine what to us would be a Russian accent. It is slightly distorted because of how loud it is.

 

Dez:"charm you say now why would you do that?"

 

Eradius: "Hey, you giant rat do you wanna have a drink?"

 

Thorston: "Why not?"

 

Eradius: "Your room or mine?"

 

Thorston shrugs.

 

Eradius: "My room then!"

 

Inb4 charm person

 

At some point you guys are going to leave heavily populated urban centers and venture into the wild, a place where charm person would be about as useful in a fight as say, these guys. For now, though? This thing's OP as all hell.

Bartender(?): "Because I have a mission I need to accomplish, and this is the best way for me to do that."

It takes a while, but you find a tavern. It's very lively inside, and just outside the doors lies merriment and gambling cheaters. A lizardman is mugging a guy in a nearby dark alley and there's a man slinking through the tavern-goers picking what pockets he can. (he loses out most of the time). Adventurers stream in and out the doors, with all manners of strange weapons and trinkets. Seems ordinary.

 

Nether, I'm gonna totally try charming flora and fauna.

Also may I suggest few new spells?

Spoiler: Earthquacke

Spoiler: Earthquacke I

Sends a shockwave throught the ground; range = 10 feet

Spoiler: Earthquacke II

Sends a shochwave through the ground that shattters it; r = 15 feet

Spoiler: Switch

Whatever or whomever the spell is cast on will switch position with the caster; r = 20 feet

 

Dez:"What was this mission?"

 

Huh. I'll tweak them a bit, but those are some pretty solid spells.
Oh and spells technically have 5 ranks but I only posted those that you know.

Bartender(?): "To find the key and invade the realms of the divine."

 

I approach the pickpocketer, ducking to make sure I don't bump my head.

 

Ducking under the beams in front of the tavern, you soon are a clear and menacing figure to the man.

Pickpocket: "U..Um.. He-hello there. How a-are you do-doing this fi-fine evening?"

 

Leon: (normal tone) "Return what you have stolen at once. If you need currency, I have sufficient to spare, but do not steal in my presence."

 

Pickpocket: "Ye-yes.. sir...?"
He quickly sweeps the people around him, sneaking items back into pockets as stealthily as he took them.
"N-Now, could yo-you please let me go?'

 

I hand the pickpocket 5G and put him down.

Leon: "Thank you, the stars are appreciative of your honesty."

(Surprised no one looked at us.)

I walk back outside and towards the lizardman.

 

The pickpocket dashes off. At least you did some good.

As you get closer to the lizardman, it sounds like he isn't mugging the man, but talking. About what?
