"You might be right. Yeah, its probably the best if she came with me."

 

"What do you mean? Didn't she pay you for it?" Emerald asks Shadow Stephanie. "She's wealthier than any damn king could dream of."

Keela seems content.
"...That, and I still am a bit wary of her."

 

"It still cost a lot." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"...If she repayed you, then it couldn't have been too bad, right?"

 

Shadow Stephanie shrugs.

 

Emerald sighs.
"Well, I suppose I should thank you. It does make her... easier on the eyes, if you will."

 

"I was half tempted to have her armour painted in bright yellows and greens so people could see her coming." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

Emerald snickers.
"I'd have ripped that off myself."

 

Shadow Stephanie just sips her tea fancifully.

 

"That's your problem, you'll need to work on that."

 

"Well, she'll probably want more."
Pause.
"She always wants something."

"Not while she's with you. I need to focus on getting a few hunts in, anyways."

 

"Pretty much, yeah." Shadow Stephanie shrugs.

 

"...Let's hope that isn't soon."
Pause.
"No offense, but aren't shadows a form of murderous demon?"

 

"Yep." Shadow Stephanie says, drinking her tea and winking.

 

"You seem awful dignified for that."
Pause.
"Unlike the two nitwits who're probably still out cold."

 

"Well, I say the best thing is to lure your targets into a false sense of security, and strike when they least expect it. They never see it coming." Shadow Stephanie says, laughing evilly.

 

"Okay, you get some hunts and I'll stay away for a while."

 

"Yup."
I nod.

 

"Not a great thing to tell me as I get hauled into a tea party."

"Do you know the fates of the other prototypes?"

"Don't lose yourself. Anne really does care for you." Keela reminds you. "Travel safe."

 

"Don't worry, I'm not going to murder you," Shadow Stephanie says, smiling, "Probably."

"We already have some demons from hell coming to visit anyway." Stephanie says happily.

"We are?" Shadow Stephanie says, surprised.

"Yeah, they wanted to see Aj, and check on Jennifer and Maria. They're coming in about a week though." Stephanie says.

"And I'm guessing you told Aj and he got too pissed to tell me?" Shadow Stephanie asks.
