Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We used to work together, you were working in the library in the void palace and giving us useful information, but then the Hive Master's control became too strong and Aj used a crystal to remove your curse." Stephanie says.

 

"How often do you guys kill humans? Or, do you at all?"

 

"You... got rid of my curse? No wonder... I guess you're going to go on about how I owe you my life and everything?" She grumbles.

"...I do like working in the library, though..."

 

"In recent times there's been less killing sprees, though we almost always kill any humans who summon us, and anyone with them," Shadow Stephanie says, "We only spare people in special cases."

"I don't think you owe us anything, just the same amount of help you gave us before if that's possible." Stephanie says happily.

 

"...How much did I do before?"

 

"Hm."
I nod, then start to think.

 

"I think we mostly just came to you when we needed information or help with something." Stephanie says, shrugging.

Shadow Stephanie just drinks her tea, Katie refilling her cup by simply lifting the tea out of the pot.

 

"You'd have to fill me in on what happened... but this explains why the robot said that you guys could help me recover."
Pause.
"Just, not that drunkard."

 

"I think my mother might be able to help a lot more than just me on my own. We could go see her after this tea party," Stephanie says, "She has a lot more magic and technology to use than I."

 

"Thirteen, by the way."
I speak up.
"My name's Thirteen."

 

"Your... mother?"

"Thirteen? Were you the thirteenth prototype?"

 

Stephanie nods.

 

"Demigod, I presume?"

 

"Yeah! Do you remember?" Stephanie asks happily.

 

"No, but there's not many people with access to more than a fucking palace."

 

Shadow Stephanie sniggers a bit.

"Well, my mother is the goddess of magic, so I'm sure she'll be able to help with things related to curses and memory loss." Stephanie says.

 

Emerald nods, then scoffs.
"I can tell you right now that any other self-respecting archmage would do what they could to serve such a goddess. I've already got one, as you probably know."

 

"People worship her, but our gods aren't as...sociable, as yours." Stephanie says.

 

"I would hope they aren't as demanding of attention as she can be." Emerald sighs. "I saw her painted armor and was worried what lavish thing she'd request next."

 

"That armour was a pretty heavy financial blow." Shadow Stephanie says.

"Mother stays on her own island by herself mostly. She said she has meetings with the other gods occasionally though, but I'm not allowed to go." Stephanie says.
