Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The walls only lead to places she's been.

 

The girl occasionally knocks on the walls, seeing if she can hear an echo.

 

Nope. Solid.
...Well, a few chimera hiss at her, since they make up the wall.

 

The girl hisses back, before continuing on.

 

One swipes at her mask.

 

The girl's fast enough to move out of the way before it can even touch her mask, the girl hissing at it more, sharp looking fangs in her mouth.

 

"All right. Tell me when you're ready."
I stay standing, looking off into the library.

 

The chimera crawls out of the wall, ten eyes all glaring at the girl.
It opens its mouth, rows of strange spinning-sawblade-like teeth visible as it lets out another hiss.

It takes her a few minutes, but she slowly stands up.
"...Okay."

 

The girl doesn't seem intimidated, long, sharp blue claws seeming to extend from nowhere out from her arms, the ends of the claws serrated and razor sharp.

 

I turn to her and nod, then start walking toward's Xlentia's chambers.

 

It prepares to lunge, but suddenly stops and goes back into the wall.
"Hey, hey! No extinctions, little mortals!" Xlentia shouts from the end of the hall, causing the girl's ears to ring a bit.

You hear Xlentia shout something down the other hall before walking back to her chambers.
Emerald struggles to follow you, but she keeps up.

 

The girl puts her hands on her head, ducking, the claws disappearing.

 

The chimera doesn't re-emerge, though the girl is left to wonder how Xlentia doesn't cause tremors every step she takes.

 

I just keep walking, slowing down a tiny bit for Emerald.

 

She stumbles occasionally, but otherwise keeps up.
Xlentia's laying down, busy shifting about.

 

The girl eventually gets up, following the walls again.

 

Still, nothing.

 

The girl continues regardless, her view falling to the floor as she hopes to find a dropped coin or valuable.

 

Nothing; the palace is kept impressively immaculate.
Well, except for the fact that half of the floors are painted with dried blood.

 

I knock on the door as I enter to be polite.
"Hey, Xlentia."
