Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"M-My crystal..." I say, before going quiet in shock and sadness.

 

An aura envelops Emerald, fading.
"...Wait, did that actually work?"

 

I just sigh, sitting down and looking at nothing.

 

Xlentia glances at you.
"Hey. Come on. Cheer up."

 

"I wanted to save that for when we really needed it, and we just did, and you smashed it..." I say, seeming down.

 

"But it worked. Weren't you trying to use it?"

 

"Yeah, let's go."
He heads out.

 

You two walk around the clearing the fire left, a skeleton of a few trees the only thing left - if anything.

After an hour of trekking in the shade, hunger starts to set in.
The hunt last night fell through... you haven't eaten in well over half a day.

 

I glance over at Emerald.

 

"Ugh.. I'm hungry..."
*stomach noices.*

 

She's unconscious, but relaxed instead of somehow tense. It's like a subconscious weight was lifted off of her.

"Don't eat me. This is a bad place to hunt - I'm not sure anything stayed near the fire, other than me."

 

"Lets just head to the centaurs, maybe we'll find something on the way."

 

"If you're going to complain about it on the way, I'm going to look for food. If you can keep quiet about it, we'll see if we can make it there by nightfall. Deal?"

 

"Deal."
He continues walking

 

You start to slow while Anne keeps her pace.
"Oh... right, sorry. I should probably slow down a bit, shouldn't I?" She comments, stopping long enough for you to catch up before trotting beside you.

 

"You're faster then me, so I would appreciate it if you slowed down."

 

"I could just jump on your shoulder and have no choice but to go your speed or jump off." She comments.

 

"If you want to get on my shoulder, sure."
He lowers his body.

 

I sigh, deciding to head back to the Realm of Shadows.

 

She hops on, smelling burnt.
"Keep going straight, and don't pass out."

Xlentia seems a bit annoyed as you leave, but doesn't press the matter further.
