Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I glance at Artemis.

Artemis seems to get ready for a serious speech, before reconsidering.

"I...I can't believe you'd lie to us, Emerald," Artemis says, getting a little tearful, sniffling, "I just want Ihra back, we all do. Aj just wants to know how to k-keep us safe when we're performing the ritual."

"C-Can't you trust us? A-After we freed Xlentia for you? I thought w-we could trust you, b-but if you're going to lie and w-withhold information from us, a-and then threaten us like w-we're a bunch of criminals, then...I...I just..." Artemis says, before sobbing, turning to me and hugging me.

"See what you've done?" I ask, disappointed in Emerald.

 

"The name's Voidfiller, and I think you need to calm down and actually put that away."
He says, summoning a stick and gesturing to Shadow Katana.

 

"Hah! Stream it is."

"She can fake it better than you ever could." Emerald laughs.
"Yes, I withheld information. Why should I give a group with a handful of murderers an explanation on why I'm trying to thin your numbers?"

 

"What?" I ask, confused.

Artemis hands and eyes start to glow, and Stephanie seems to be writing in a different book.

 

"You're that dumb? I JUST told you I planned to kill one of you!" Emerald shouts, getting combat ready.

 

Stephanie seems to be writing a lot quicker, summoning a voodoo doll and placing it under the book.

Massive vines erupt from the ground around Emerald, toppling down onto her as large venus fly trap-esce plants sprout on them, biting onto Emerald and spitting a corrosive substance onto her.

 

Crystal seems shocked, while I just start to leave.

 

She splits and disintegrates, her books phasing through the walls into the library as some kind of golem rises from the palace floor and fires a wall of plasma at the group...

Voidfiller teleports over to Crystal, pulling him under a portal, while I dart away.

 

Stephanie quickly throws a large mage crystal to her Shadow, who activates it, causing a large shield to appear around the group to protect them.

"I'm done!" Stephanie says a moment later, closing her book.

 

The golem stands and stares, pointing a handcannon of sorts past the group.

Safety...
Except Xlentia seems to be coming to check on the commotion.
"Hey, little robot. What's going on?"

 

"The short version is that Emerald tried attacking us, but I'm not sure if it's Emerald or the mimic that fucked Abigail up."
I say quickly.

 

The shield disappears a short moment later, the group quickly splitting up.

I empower Artemis, a pair of Shadow Wings growing from her back as she flies away from the golem. Shadow Stephanie grabs Stephanie and starts running toward the library as Katie freezes the ground in front of her, sliding toward the golem before firing blasts of water at it's left foot, the water quickly freezing on contact.

Abigail just gets out of the way, not seeming scared at all.

 

"W-what?!" Xlentia roars, stomping off towards the library.

 

I follow her, as Voidfiller pops up from a portal from where he descended, peeking around.

 

Abigail gets swallowed by one of Sapphire's puppets as the golem easily shatters the ice, moving to stomp on Katie.

Stephanie can see Xlentia storming into the library, screaming;
"WHAT'S GOING ON?!"

The entry seems to be sealed.

There's Xlentia running off and a snake puppet swallowing Abigail from nowhere.

 

"Yeah, let's go."
He heads out.

 

Voidfiller sneaks behind the golem, and I continue I follow.

 

She follows you.
"Stream or ocean?"

The golem doesn't notice, Xlentia ramming down a barrier as she bashes down the library doors.

 

Before the puppet can swallow Abigail, a figure in a black cloak similar to the one Abigail is wearing grabs her and swipes her out of the way.

"Come with me." The figure says to Abigail, extending a hand as a dark portal appears next to the figure. Abigail shrugs and takes the figure's hand, and the pair head through the portal.


Katie creates a stream of water suspended in the air, quickly swimming through it and moving out of the way of the golem.


Artemis, wielding Shadow Katana, quickly flies toward the golem's neck.


Stephanie starts drawing runes in the air, and Shadow Stephanie empowers her to assist with the drawing.
