"...Not going to rob anyone either."

 

"...You seriously need to get a Shadow." Shadow Stephanie says.

"You really do." I concur.

 

"Well, I asked you to meet up where we met yesterday, which was near the fire."
He turns around.
"That would mean..."

 

I sigh.
"I don't know how generous Tenebrae is feeling."

"...It'd mostly be burnt out."

 

"Exactly."

 

"Well, unless something else got burned, you should be able to have already smelled the ashes."
Pause.
"Come to think of it, I can't smell any sign of it either... though you've yet to bathe."

 

He looks at the paw marks.
"Oh yeah, I should get on with that."

 

"It's more a matter of the Shadow you call accepting your request." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"True, but a weak shadow isn't much fun."

"Well, fire first. We're closer to that then water. After that, I'm not sure if I can stand the scent of you for much longer." She laughs.

 

"Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want. Let's just take a look at the fire so that I can wash myself."

 

"Well, if you ever manage to drop by the Shadow Realm, you could always go and pray to Tenebrae." I say, shrugging.

 

"Hehee, that's a pretty good reason to go."
She jumps off your shoulder and trots ahead.

"Maybe. I'll see."
Pause.
"Well, if you're out of questions, I should probably have you leave. So, like, you can go fix Abigail or retrieve Ihra or something."

 

He follows her.

 

"Thank you for all the help you've given us. If this portal opens again in the future, you can bet we'll come through it." Artemis says happily.

 

"Yeah, thanks."
I add.
"Nice meeting you, Eric."

 

"Yeah, no problem. Thanks for the gifts. Try not to die and stuff." I say, apparently happy.

"Same. Don't get into too much trouble."

After a minute, she pads onto the ashes of a new clearing.
"Wow... it's not even... it's... just gone..." She mutters, a bit concerned.

 

"It's been really nice meeting you, Eric. It's just a shame we have to go now." Stephanie says, smiling.

"But...this isn't goodbye forever right? You'll send letters, right?" Katie asks, worried.

 

"...I'll see what I can do."
Pause.
"Good luck."

 

The group waves before leaving through the portal they came through, Katie hesitating for a moment and looking back at you before running through.

 

"What is it?"
