"So, what's this Hive Master guy like?"
Voidfiller asks.

 

"Morning, Anne. I got news."

 

"Well, Aj's been pretty stressed about the ritual to save Ihra, so I wondered if you knew anything that could happen while it goes on, or anything we could do to make it safer or easier." Artemis says happily.

"Aw, Artemis, you don't have to spend your question on me." I say.

"You've been pretty stressed about this though, Aj. Besides, I want to see Ihra too." Artemis says flatly.

 

"It's not just one question per person. But, I know that Emerald isn't telling you the whole truth. Part of it she knows will bother you, and she doesn't want to tell you that part. I believe the line goes 'easier to ask forgiveness than permission,' if I remember correctly."

"Oh?" She asks, waving you over.

"Simple draconian, but loves mind games. He'll probably just surrender if you get close enough to him that you'd actually be fighting him one on one."

 

"Well, what's the whole truth?" I ask.

"You can't handle the truth!" Shadow Stephanie shouts at me.

Artemis, Shadow Stephanie and I laugh.

 

"So, what, he wants to control everyone just 'cause he can?"

 

"I love you guys, but you know how I said that I won't tell you everything? Well, I gotta leave some mysteries in there, even if you don't like them." I admit.

"Okay... so. @Nepeta Leijon (group), listen up.

The Hive Master is angry at the gods. However, to reach the strength needed to overpower them, he must gather the power of millions of beings. He wants to avenge his mother, who was banished to Oblivion by mistake. However, such actions are irreversible, and he's one to hold grudges. And that is why the Hive Master is trying to spread his control."

 

"Keela said you were welcome, as long as you don't cause any trouble."

 

"So you're not going to tell us?" Artemis asks, disappointed.


"So the whole reason this guy is pissed at all of us, is because of one mistake?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

She jumps off onto your shoulder.
"I can be a good girl when I want to." She giggles.

"No, I'm not going to tell you what it is. However, Emerald doesn't know I was going to sell her out on this."
Pause.

"One irreversible mistake, yes."

 

"Good."
Pause.
"One more thing. You're a kitsune, right?"

 

"Half kitsune."

 

"Do you have a human form?"

 

"...Honestly, that sounds like someone I want to slap rather than stab."

 

She hesitates.
"If I say no, will you get rid of me?"

"All kitsune do, but not all half-kitsune do. And... I don't have one."

"Oh, I see." Artemis says, winking at you understandingly.


"So, a god accidentally kills this guys mother, and he decides to go and mind control absolutely everyone to overthrow the gods despsite it being a mistake!?" Shadow Stephanie clarifies.

 

"Okay..."
Crystal says, while Voidfiller just peers at you again, and I don't seem to mind.
