Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I open it, occasionally glancing at the dragon construct.

 

"I'll be going then."
He starts to walk back home.

 

The dragon looks up at you from it's box, expectant.

Inside seems to be a pair of gloves with light purple crystals on the back of them.

"Try them on!" Stephanie says happily.

 

I put them on, stepping over and telling the dragon to stay put before returning my attention to Stephanie.

You can hear the raging flames behind you as you leave, but it sounds slightly less intense than before.
The forest will probably be okay...

 

"Jeez, Sparky where are you?" He thinks.
He looks around.
"Sparky!"

 

The crystals on the gloves light up, and a massive pair of light purple spectral hands appear just in front of them.

"They're sort of telekinesis gloves. You can pick up pretty much anything, even heavy things, with then." Stephanie says happily.

 

"Sweet."
I try using them to move the dragon box to the side.

He finally shows up, tired.
"Bardock... what did I tell you about calling for me in the middle of the night?" He growls.

 

It's quite easy to move, and the gloves simulate the feeling of touching the box.

"The feeling thing might take a bit of getting used to. Don't worry about touching sharp stuff though, the gloves won't stab you." Stephanie says happily.

 

"Sweet, thanks." I say, taking them off after a bit.
Pause.
"Can I punch things with them?"

 

"I was injured. But now, I'm good."
Pause.
"So, I don't know who's to blame here."

 

"Yeah, they're quite good for that actually. It might be a bit hard to learn how to interact with something and how to phase through it, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it," Stephanie says, "The best thing to remember is that they're controlled by your mind. If you want to punch something hard, think about punching it hard. If you want to move your hand through a vase without knocking it over, think about moving it through without touching it."

 

"Well, I'll blame the eagle. Girl won't shut up..." He yawns.

"Cool, this ought to help me get my points across." I chuckle.
Pause.
"Next, I guess?"

 

I walk over with an oddly skull-shaped present wrapped in black, red eyes and a grin on the wrapping paper.

"I think you'll like this present." I say happily, offering the gift to you.

 

"I was injured and needed to get home."
He looks at Sparky.
"Whatever, let's just get home."

 

"I probably will." I reply, opening it.

"Well, you gonna ride or not?"

 

"Yeah, I feel tired."
He climbs on top of Sparky.

 

Sparky slowly trudges away from the fire.
"So, how'd the whole mess start?"

 

Unsurprisingly, there's a human skull under the wrapping paper, however there seem to be a pair of rings in it's eye sockets and a strange looking black ingot in it's open mouth that seems to absorb the light around it.

"Those rings will basically allow you to become a Shadow with fewer powers, but at the same time fewer weaknesses," I say, "You can't teleport around or possess people, but you can still go invisible, see in the dark, flatten yourself against surfaces and morph your body to an extent, as well as most of our other powers. Getting beamed with light will just drain the ring's power until their effects wear off and they need to recharge somewhere pitch black."

 

"Uhm. Well we started with a hunt. The pack was a bit short on food and decided to go on a hunt."
He thinks some more.
"We couldn't find anything, which was odd. Eventually we ran into the kitsune from earlier. Did you hear about her?"

 

"Okay, I could go without the skull but that's awesome. Thanks."

"Nope. What's so special about this one?"
