Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

Cultists: "Leren? He's our alchemist. Amazing work, not that much fighting skill. That alchemy skill combined with his self-researched field spell makes him an invaluable resource to us.

Shopkeeper: "Hmm. You're smaller than most, but we get a lot of weird customers, so I learned a resize spell quite a while ago. You can pretty much buy whatever you want, though the resize is an extra fee."

You open your eyes.
Sitting up, you look around you. You're on a grassy plain, with mountains off in the distance. Oddly, there's a small cat next to you, purring as it leans on your leg.

Hmm... This seems like a mix between the current divine magic system (uses innate energy, more powerful) and the current arcane magic system (name, mastery, spells)
What I could do with this is turn the spell into an even more powerful form once it hits mastery rank 6 or so, following the rules set up here. The only exception to these rules is the exhaustion. Arcane magic comes from the ambient energy in the area. What I could do, however, is have the amount of magic required damage/destroy any focus that isn't strong enough to channel it. Either way, I'll think about it.

I'm probably going to spend the rest of the weekend ironing out magic, seeing if I can integrate your addition, and expanding on types of foci.

Dez:"and where is our main base, I was stationed up north but we were attacked I dont remember much I just need to know where oir main base is"

 

"Good to know."
I take out the rapier Leon gave me.
"Actually, could you do a resizing spell on this?"

 

Eradius: "Piss off, you meaningless animal."
I drink potion of healing.

 

Leon: (whispering) "Thank you. We will take our leave."

I start towards the open fields, with the person still on my back.

 

Lazarus: "Got it."

I check the room.

 

Cultist: "Catacombs in the Imperial Capital. The guys who hired us are based in a tower slightly up north, and after we got dispatched here we've just been assimilating into the Riverthrone. The Boss is currently giving out orders from a tavern nearby. He mind-controlled the bartender and made her believe he was her brother. They look similar for some reason, so it works. Only reason we're out in force is because of the full alert order."

Shopkeeper: "Hmm? A rapier? Alright. That'll be 7 Gold Coins."
You hand him the rapier.
After a quick spell, it decreases in size to only around a foot. It's balanced very well. It'll do.

The cat, frightened, runs off. After drinking one of the potions in your wallet, you stand up. The mountains off in the distance are the only notable features. The plain around you seems to stretch off forever.

You and Robert take a short walk to the plain slightly north of the town. The guy on your back seems to be stirring, but he's still asleep.

As Vesuia leaves the room, you get a strange feeling.

Oh wait that's you being shocked.
Kyvoit's back. How did he sneak up on you?

 

I'm going to try to ignore my fatigue, and swing around, drawing my sword as I spin to attack. If he's at a distance, throwing knife him.

 

Leon: "I have no doubt we are being hunted. I wonder where that furry creature went after fear overcame him."

 

"Thanks."
I pay him if I haven't already, take the shrunken rapier, and leave.

 

I shock myself slightly with lightning.

 

BTW I don't think my inventory on the op is updated with the loot I got from the dead cloaked beings.

 

Kyovit: "Potions and waiting for my body to heal took quite some time. Yet I have returned, invader, to deliver my vengeance. Flashstep."

Your sword hits air. He's behind you. Luckily, however, it's not that far behind you, so you complete the swing and leave a horizontal gash in his chest, knocking him off his feet.

You pay the man and exit to the street outside. The amount of cultists in the area is rather creepy.

Due to continued usage of the lightning spell, it has ranked up!
It is now capable of strength levels from a static electricity shock to a bolt twice as strong as natural lightning.
I feel like I just wrote script for a pokemon game for some reason

The lightning itself gives your body a tingling feeling, but it's enough to stop whatever dream you were having. You very slowly begin to open your eyes.

Updated. Also, your bag is officially bursting with stuff.

 

I actually drink the potion of healing and check where I am.

 

I keep the rapier sheathed, but ready to draw in an emergency.
"(to myself) Huh..."
I look at the shop, studying its architecture carefully.

 

Dez:"how would you describe the boss?"
After I get this info I cast freeze on both of them. I'll stab one in the heart and try to decapitate the other and take his head and loot them

 

I take out the scroll and use it.

Leon: "This has no use for me unless it is used."

 

"Here, I'll carry it."

 

I don't use it.

Leon: "It's a scroll, but of what, even the cosmos cannot tell me."

I pass it to Robert.

 

I'll swiftly chop off his head with my sword.
